Ultimate Detective - Chapter 3

Saihara had finally caught up to me. "J-Jeez you didn't have to skip that fast though.." he muttered out, out of breath.

"Hehe." I teased. 

In reality, I was embarrassed at what he said earlier. I ran ahead so that the blush in my face would go away. He can say some embarrassing things.. I can't deny it made me happy though. Even though we had just met. 

Saihara was a reliable guy when it came down to it. He seems shy at first but after hanging out with him today, he seems like a pretty cool guy. I hope I can hang out with him more after the day ends..

Me and Saihara were happily talking on our way home next to each other. I still saw the mark on his face and I still felt bad. 

"W-What were you doing out in the sidewalk anyways, Akamatsu?"

"Jeezz, am I not allowed to walk outside Mr. Detective?" I replied in a joking matter

"A-Ah, good point sorry.." I saw his face tense up

"I'm just kidding," I giggled and I see his face compose again, "I hardly go outside except when I need to or hanging out with friends. The reason I was outside was because I got scouted by Hopes Peak Academy to be an Ultimate! Can you believe that?! I was so excited I had to get a walk, and I met you!"

Saihara looked shocked. "Y-You got scouted by Hopes Peak Academy?!"

"I know!! I was so surprised myself." 

He looked really guilty. "O-Oh god, I just wasted your time on me, I'm sor-"

"I'm not letting you finish that sentence, Saihara." I stopped walking and so did he. I gave him a serious look, and he flinched when I stared at him. "I had fun with you today, there's no way you wasted my time. I'm not somebody above you just because I have an ultimate talent. You don't need to apologize. I only want you to think of me as an equal, even if I have a talent, you're just as amazing as me if not better."

At first Saihara had a scared expression, but then he looked up at me and smiled. I could see his gray eyes again. "Thanks Akamatsu, I know we just met but you're already helping me be more confident in myself." 

I blushed for a second after seeing his eyes a second time, but then I smiled cheerfully and nodded "Good! No problem, and glad I could help!"

We continued walking towards my house.

I clapped my hands together. "Now, wanna hear my Ultimate Talent?!"

"Y-Yea!" he yelled out.

"Fuhuhuhu.. It might sound lame though so please don't be disappointed."

"Hmm, I don't think any talent of yours would be lame. If it's something you're good at and spend your time improving it, I will definitely be impressed!" He refuted me with a smile.

"A-Ah I see.. Thank you." My face flared up once more. How many times is this guy gonna make me blush today? I've probably blushed more times today than my entire life. I don't understand why I keep getting flustered around him. I slapped my face again so I would stop blushing.

"Alright, I'm the Ultimate Pianist!" I said enthusiastically. 

Saihara looked at me amazed. "H-How would that be a lame talent?! That's awesome." 

"T-Thank you!.." I played with the strap on my backpack and blushed. Again.

"N-No problem." He looked down embarrassed but he was smiling. How cute..

I got distracted from my thoughts when Saihara yelled out to me.

"O-Oh hey Akamatsu is that your house?" he pointed towards a mailbox that had my family name on it.
