Conversation

"Hey" I said back, and we just stood there, comfortably looking into each others eyes. The room seemed to melt and the only thing i could feel was the presence of Paul. "Everybody, this is Alexandra, she is staying here in LaPush for a few days. Boys, be nice."Said Emily. I turned to face the people i had forgotten were here and gave them a tiny wave. "You haven't met us before, i am Quil and he is Seth. Said another strong dark haired guy politely. I smiled and looked to Seth, he looked younger that the others but still alike. Same broad shoulders and tan skin. He smiled back at me. I stood their silently, looking around at the guys and Emily, easily conversing with each other. No doubt they were all pretty close.

I felt someone shift behind me and remembered Paul. "Umm... Thank you for saving me.... the other night..... when i was in the.... um..." i stuttered "Water?" he finished my awkward sentence. "Water. Yes." I agreed and blushed. He smiled and offered his hand "Paul" he said in his amazing voice. "Alexandra" I said as i took his hand. I promise you that nothing in the world, nothing could be as perfectly heated as Paul's skin. It was so congenial, i never wanted to let go. "I know my name is a mouthful, so you can call me Lexi, or whatever you like." I managed. " Okay, Al?" "Al." I happily agreed. i liked when he said my new nick name. My stomach was doing something i did not know it was capable of. "We are going to the beach in the afternoon, would you wanna come?" Was he asking me out? I wanted to to say yes! Should I say yes? "I am sorry, i can't come. I am sorta busy... so no" Busy not knowing how to swim and busy saying goodbye to Rick and Mandy, they were leaving today. "Oh. Its cool" He said disappointedly. Why was he disappointed? Did he actually like me? I shoved my curious thoughts aside and said "But i am here for another week, maybe more, perhaps we could go some other day" His eyes sparkled and he smiled a god-like smile, his snow white teeth clearly visible. "Yeah. Okay" He said these ordinary words that made me smile. It was nice. He was nice.

Mandy and Rick were probably waiting for me so i had to go. I said bye to everybody, hugged Emily and left giving Paul one last look. "I hope I'll see you again, Al." he said. "Yeah, so do i, Paul." I drove home.
