Middle school was... terrible to say the least. The only thing that mildly improved the droning of your teachers was your best friend since the age of 6. You two were in the same school since elementary and while some considered her eccentric, her crazy habits were seen as endearing by you.

"Y/N-chan!" Your friend called, waiting near the ice cream parlour as always so you could walk to school together.

"Morning Mei-Chan. Are we getting anything now or later in the break?" You asked the pink-haired girl.

"Later, I need to tell you about the newest baby I made," Hatsume squealed.

"Don't word it that way, sometimes I forget you mean the support items," you laughed.

The two of you spent the short walk talking about the invention and brainstorming ideas for improvement. Before you knew it, you were in front of the classroom.

"I can't wait until we're out of here, have you applied to U.A yet?" She asked.

"Not yet but I assume I'll get in through Aizawa. I've started training and preparing though," you mumbled.

"Better hurry up Y/N-Chan, you've only got ten months until exam day," she pointed out.

"Woah, Shirakumo-San and Hatsume-San want to go to U.A? That's a national level school dude!" Some guy awed.

"Shirakumo I can understand, she has one of the strongest quirks in class! But Hatsume? What's she going to do?" His friend whispered back. The two of you were accustomed to rumours floating about and normally tried to ignore them, but no one could blatantly insult your best friend and get away with it.

"So what if her quirk isn't suited for the hero course? That doesn't matter because there are other departments that are just as important. When you start your own agencies, you'll need someone from business course to make sure you succeed. Support course helps by providing equipment and Gen studies is usually the smart one in the group that actually does research. So don't go around degrading other people because your quirk is just heightened senses," you glared at him.
"HA! Get wrecked bro! Everyone knows not to mess with Shirakumo," the first one laughed.

"Kaminari-kun, I'm giving you three seconds to run," you threatened.

To say that the blond pikachu was screaming and running for his life while everyone was filming it, would be a mild understatement.

Unfortunately for you, the teacher had to walk in just when you pinned him down.

"Shirakumo-San, Kaminari-San, how did you make it to the high school preparatory course? Doesn't matter, Shirakumo get off Kaminari. Mind explaining me why you're in this state?" She sighed. It was a common occurrence to see you two in this state. Or just the two of you being idiots in general. The reason why, seemed to change every day.

"I accidentally insulted Shirakumo?" Kaminari mumbled.

"Well I can't help you anymore. Class reps, you're in charge of the funeral. Now, onto more important things. You'll finally be leaving us in 9 months. Hopefully you have a plan. We'll be doing career plans today. I have your test score averages and probability of passing into your most wanted career. Once you're done, I can give you advice," she explained handing forms out. The class instantly sat down and calmed, most beginning to fill them out while others thought about opportunities.

"Y/N-chan you're applying to U.A, right?" Kaminari asked.

"Yep. The national hero course. You probably should too, that quirk is useful you know?" You told him.

"It's not my quirk... I'm not the smartest and we need that for school!" He confessed
.
"You'll do fine. Mei-Chan can help in maths and sciences and I'll help in languages," you shrugged.

"I didn't agree to that?" Mei asked, looking up from the blueprint she was drawing.

"You agreed to it the day we practically adopted Pikachu," you sighed.
"Fair enough."

Your love-hate relationship with Kaminari was an interesting one to say the least. The two of you met in the first year of middle school when you stood up for him because people were calling him dumb, only to scold him around 10 minutes later for being too flirtatious.

So the trio formed with Kaminari being the social one, Hatsume being the smart introvert and you being the mom. Bad idea since you were as irresponsible and chaotic as the other two, but you made sure they didn't die on you and actually took care of themselves.

The rest of the school day droned by as usual with the most interesting thing that happened being Kaminari sneezing and setting his paper on fire. Yeah. Not fun.

"Dumbass you need to be more careful and control your quirk better. How'd you get a cold anyways?" You asked him in the break.

"It's just the sniffles, I'll be fine," he began only to sneeze again.

"Kaminari go home. You're probably going to set the building on fire and while I hate school, I don't need you pulling a JD on us. I'll get quirk cancelling pills from the nurse," you sighed.

"Ooh I could make something to control it, maybe generate the electricity he releases into something useful!" Hatsume realised.

"Mei no. He's sick. Denks, go home. The teachers clearly know after you burnt the math worksheet and I can tell the nurse," you sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time that day.

"Yeah ok. Only if you visit me later with ice cream and fluffy blankets," he bargained.

"He takes after me," Hatsume proudly stated.

"Fine. Now go. Shoo, shoo. Bye!" You ushered him away.

"Well now it's only us," Hatsume smiled going back to tinkering.

"Just like in elementary," you chuckled.

"What's your training plan? Are you doing anything to improve-" she began.

"No. I'm not going to use that. I nearly hurt you remember?" You grimaced.

"That was in 1st grade. We're in 9th now, your control would've definitely improved. Not to mention all the things you might be able to do if you just open your mind a bit," she tried to persuade you.

"Mei-Chan it doesn't matter when it was. I still nearly hurt you. I don't want to use something dangerous, that's villainous," you finished, walking to class leaving the pink haired girl alone.
