(btw, you're Edgeworth's cat)

Also, please don't ask how and why this came to my head, it just did..... Also for the sake of the story and partly my sanity, you the different buildings....

Also, a certain part of this oneshot comes from a joke I was making with a friend about what crazy thing Phoenix would do next in court (ie like after cross-examining a parrot and defending an orca...)

-------------

I woke from my peaceful slumber on the soft red sofa of what I learned was my owner's office. I stretched and yawned before hopping off of the sofa and walking to the closed door, scratching it.

"*Meow*."

"Do you need to stretch your legs, (Y/n)?" My owner asked me, standing up from his desk and walking over to the door. I purred and rubbed against his leg before running out of the now opened door.

-------------------

I prowled the city for a while before my ears perked up after hearing something. I followed the sound to see two people arguing. I stayed hidden for a bit while until I noticed they were fighting, which is when I pounced on the one with a knife. I grabbed a hold of his trouser leg and pulled, eventually ripping off a part of his trouser leg material.

"Blasted cat! These were my good trousers!" I just turned around and off, heh. I ran back to the Prosecutor's Office and back up to my owner's office, pushing the door open and jumping back onto the sofam the cloth still in my mouth, before falling asleep again.

I was woken up however, some time later, by the sound of the door opening, "Wright, what brings you here?"

"I came to talk about the case, Edgeworth." Wright? Why does that-

I perked up and grabbed the cloth that I'd been guarding, in my mouth before hopping off of the sofa and walking up to said male known as 'Wright'. I rubbed against his leg, gaining his attention before dropping the fabric and returning to the sofa.

------------------

The next day I made my way to the courthouse for my morning walk. I managed to sneak into the defendant looby where Mr Wright was, past the bailiff, due to my small stature as a cat. I am walked up to him and nuzzled against his leg, alerting to Athena's attention, "Boss, there's a cat nuzzling you."

Mr Wright looked down to see me, "Oh hello, (Y/n). How did you get in here?"

-----------------Phoenix's POV

"Mr Wright?"

"Yes, Your Honour?"

"Why is there a cat in the courtroom?"

"Um.. about that Your Honour, she just kind of followed me here..."
---------------

"Mr Wilson, do you recognise this piece of fabric?" I asked, holding up the ripped bit of fabric that (Y/n) had given to me. His face was in shock, "N-no I don't!"

"That's strange because I received this piece of fabric from another witness, a witness that is yet to give testimony."

"SILENCE! That is impossible! The prosecution has already interrogated allvthe witnesses to this murder and there no other person that witnessed the crime take place!"

I smirked, "Yes, no other person. But what about a certain 4-legged witness."

"Wright-dono... Where is this going?"

"You'll see... In fact, this witness has been sitting in this very courtroom the whole trial."

"Mr Wright...."

"Boss, you seriously don't intend to..."

"CROSS-EXAMINE, (Y/N), DO YOU?!" Both Athena and Apollo shouted at the same time.

"You know me too well."

"Wright-dono...."

"Mr Wright! You do intend on cross-examining a cat?!"

"Yes, Your Honour. It is a defence attorney's job to seek out the truth and the way we do that is by getting testimony from all the witnesses and comparing them to the evidence at hand."

"Your Baldness, you're not really going to-"

"I am no stranger to Mr Wright's ways in the courtroom, it will be allowed."

"Thank you, Your Honour." I tapped (Y/n) to try and wake her up, to no avail, she just turned around and wentvback to sleep. Come on, (Y/n), please now is the time to cooperate! She eventually woke up and jumped off of the bench.

"Bailiff! Bring in a box for the witness."

---------------

In the end, we managed to free our client with (Y/n)'s help. We left the courtroom (Y/n) following behind. She walked up to us and nuzzled my leg again. I bent down and stroked her behind her ear, resulting in her purring, "You were really helpful in there today, (Y/n). Thank you, here." I pulled out a bit of chicken that I had in my pocket from the investigation (it was in a box! It wasn't just sitting in his pocket) and gave her a bit. She ate  happily before running off out of the courthouse, presumably back to Edgeworth.
