So, technically I'm not allowed to be in the dining hall during an announcement, but c'mon. I know Sophie wouldn't stand for the announcement anyway-and I was partly right. I overheard what the maid told Sophie, and saw the death glare she gave the floor. Sophie stood up, and that's when everything started to go down.
"Attention! Hello, and good morning! I've been informed I have to eliminate 10 selected right here."
The King and Queen nodded approvingly, and the selected panicked. Their eyes widened, and they scrambled to sit up straighter and look regal. I almost snorted, and covered my mouth with my hand to hide my smile. No way. Sophie could never. She would never. But, she said nothing. Silence. I could see the selected all sweating, hands clenched, scared. But then she spoke up again.
"BUT-seeing as I don't like that idea, i'm not doing that."
I nearly laughed as I saw the King's face redden in rage, but Sophie ignored him.
"So you will be spilling into two groups, one of 12 and one of 13. More information will be given soon. Have a good rest of your day."
She got up and stalked away from the table, hands unclenching. Turns out I was right. She wasn't going to do it without a fight.
