Alright! Another request!

Thank @Sara_mj for the idea of this au!

Today... We have some dispairful incidents...

We have:

Saioma,
remnants of dispar au!

And now... Let's see the plot: new teachers were a hassle and Kokichi knew damn well that Chisa, his aunt as well as Chiaki's, was an agent from the future foundation. He wanted to help so bad with the mission, but when his emotions are involved in the business, Kokichi needs to choose in between justice and love.

And now... On with the dispair.

Title: The knife game

No one pov:

Kokichi groaned as he again got the second place on the racing game. He looked annoyed at Chiaki who smiled weakly at him. "It was a good game, Kokichi..." "But I lost! I always lose to you!" the younger wailed.

Kokichi exhaled and rested his head on his cousin's shoulder. "Your class has a new homeroom teacher... And on top of it you are last year... That's cool..." the boy mused, looking at the sky that was pure blue.

Chiaki smiled and let down her game console, petting the purple locks of her younger cousin with a small smile. "It will be a day when you will beat me at a game... You just got to wait... I may be the ultimate gamer... But nobody is invincible." The girl mused.

Kokichi smiled weakly, closing his eyes. "Mhm..." Chiaki smiled and started to hum a little song. It wasn't a known ritm. It was their special song, that they had for each other.

Sun is rising,
Birds are singing,
The bear's asleep,
But not the fishes from the deep,
Hope may be your way
If you follow what your heart will say,
Smile as bright as you can,
Tomorrow is not a set plan,
Cause we will play together again,
Just wait and don't let your hope be in vain.

Kokichi smiled as he hummed halfway through the song, but the moment was killed by the bell from the school. The boy smiled as he got up from his place. "I gotta go... If not Shumai will kidnap me!" the boy dramatically said. Chiaki smiled weakly.

"You know... You don't need to lie to be accepted by the others... You are amazing as you are." kokichi smiled weakly. "If only more people were as good as you..." he whispered before finally leaving Chiaki alone.

Shuichi pov:

I smiled weakly as I saw Kokichi giggling at the note I wrote. I know we are childish with passing notes to each other during class, but it was somewhat fun to get a little paper with funny drawings or messages.

A small crumble of paper hit my desk, making me perk my head towards it. I opened it, seeing our current conversation as well as a new reply.

Shu! The himbo is smelling weird! Bet he didn't shower at all today!

I composed myself from laughing out loud at the small drawing of a classmate that smells like in cartoons. We need to behave and all that... After all...

We are in the reserve course...

I actually had an ultimate, but I declined the primary course application. I had to be in the reserve course... I had to know what Hope's Peak hides. It's the start of some dark times and the truth must be uncovered before it's too late.

I smiled once Kokichi jumped on me in the break. "Shumai! I'm bored! Let's play something!" he wailed. I giggled lightly at his attics. He was adorable.

I led him to an empty classroom and pulled from my backpack the game instrument. "Wanna play it?" I asking, swinging the said instrument. Kokichi smiled, his eyes shimmering with excitement. I took it as a yes.

I slapped my hand on the table and started the game as Kokichi smiled, giggling lightly. He was the one that was stabbing in between my fingers. The knife was piercing through the wood, and at a faster pace with each second that passed.

It was our version of the knife game.

But suddenly I felt a pain in my pinky. "Oops... Sorry Shumai... I couldn't break our record..." he pouted. I smiled, kissing his cheek lightly, making him to blush. He got out the knife, gently licking the blood that was dripping from it. "It's sweet... Just like you, Shu..." he smiled weakly.

I giggled, caressing his cheek. "Come on... Today she promised you to make you a winner of the game..." I whispered. He only smiled weakly.

Kokichi pov:

Chisa, Mikan and Shuichi were brainwashed... They were remnants of dispair. And I knew that in order to stop them, I had to pretend I'm too one of them.

It hurt me to see Shu this way. He was happy, yet not good. He wasn't my shy and cute Shumai. It was another person. A completely different personality, yet the same body.

I put on my fake mask as I followed Shu to a room. It was a control room. He smiled once he saw Junko herself in there. "Just in time! Upupupu... The game will start soon!" she smiled as she handed me a game console. "Let's see who will be the winner!" she cheered.

I looked at the monitors. Chiaki was there. It was a maze like in those games. I exhaled and started to tap the buttons.

It's just a hologram... She's trying to mess with me. It's not real!

Shu was drooling and blushing as he hugged me from behind. I was concentrated on winning the game. "Come on... Give it everything you have... Don't you want to win one time against your cousin?" she taunted me.

I wanted to win... At least once...

I started to use combinations, but at the end, Chiaki made it out of the maze. "Booo... You suck at it..." Junko nagged me. I couldn't help but smile weakly. "Never underestimate me..." I whispered, pressing the last button and summoning a dozen of spikes.

I felt amazing! I won!

Shu smiled and kissed me. "Congrats! You won!" he mused as I smiled. I felt really good. It was a new sensation that I didn't want to vanish. Like a guilty pleasure. I smiled, making my way towards the said room.

I was walking slowly, the blood oozing everywhere from the almost dead body. "K-K-kichi..." Chiaki called for me. I smiled in content. "I won... I finally defeated you in a game... So sad it's our last one..." I taunted. She smiled weakly for whatever reason.

"Remember... You don't need to pretend..." she whispered before letting her last breath to go to waste.

I looked at Shumai, who was smiling, eyes swirling with dispair. I grabbed his hand gently in mine. "You know... I'd love to dance in a rain of blood..." I mused. "Don't worry, sweetie... I got your wish and I'll make it true."

And he was right. The next day I was looking at the mass of Bodies that fell from the hopes peak. Blood everywhere and fire igniting some light.

It was so dispairful! So beautiful!

Shu smiled as I waltzed with him through the blood pool. "It's a beautiful music that plays in here." he said, referring to the screams of the humans. "Yes... It's amazing!" I mused, kissing his cheek.

I started to Humm the tune of a well known song... Well... You, the readers know it. I know it along Chiaki and no one else from here.

"I love that you finally embraced the dispair..." Shumai whispered in my ear. I giggled lightly, resting my head on his chest.

"I would never leave you alone... After all... We need to play the knife game again and again..."
