"DESPITE THE DEVASTATION of what has been confirmed as an extraterrestrial attack, the extraordinary heroics of the group known as the Avengers has been to many a cause not only for comfort, but for celebration."

"It's just really great knowing they're out there. That someone is watching over us."

"I love you, Thor!"

"He went pew pew and the alien goes pwahhh! And this green guy walks up and he goes ROAR!"

"I don't know. I don't exactly feel safer with those things out there. It just seems that there's a lot they're not telling us."

"Superheroes in New York? Give me a break."

"These so-called 'heroes' have to be held responsible for the destruction done to this city. This was their fight. Where are they now?"

"Tough questions are being asked about the Avengers themselves. Their sudden appearance and equally sudden disappearance-"

"What, this is all somehow their fault? Captain America and the winged lady saved my life. Wherever they are, and wherever any of them are, I would just... I would want to say thank you."

————————————————

Many images of Charlie and the Avengers flash on the screen to anyone who can view them.

Including, some unwanted company.

—————————————————

The Avengers were getting shawarma. Sure, the joint was crushed and the workers were exhausted, but they were getting their shawarma.

Bruce Banner ate happily, in between Clint and Tony. Tony just stared off into nothing, totally beat. Thor, who was next to Tony, was practically inhaling the food. Captain America is next down the line, him just resting his chin on his hand. Charlie sat beside him, rubbing small circles on Steve's knee, a way of calming herself. Natasha was slowly eating the food in front of her, Clint doing the same with his foot rested in her chair.

They had won.

————————————————

Charlie got off of the motorcycle with Steve. The Avengers had gathered the next day to see Thor, Loki, and the Tesseract away.

Charlie shook Thor's hand, wishing him safe travels.

Thor nods to the team before turning the handle and beaming up back to Asgard.

"Great, now I'm leaving. I have a building to build." Tony Stark raises his hand in the air, an expensive suit hugging his form.

"Char, can I talk to you before you two leave." Natasha quietly excused herself and Charlie.

"Yeah? What's up?" Charlie walks to the railing of the place they were at. The two had moved a ways away, out of hearing distance.

"I remember you."

"From? You're going to have to be more specific." Charlie acted as if the three words didn't affect her, when they very much did.

"Back at the Red Room, where I was trained. You were there with the Winter Soldier. But you were... different."

Charlie stares at Natasha, trying to jumpstart a memory.

"I-I'm sorry, I don't remember."

"No, I didn't think you would. I'm here if you need to talk. I can tell you some stories to try and trigger your memories."

"The thing is, I don't really want to remember that version of me."

Natasha is immediately put off. "Oh, yeah. I understand. Sorry. I'm still here if you need anything."

"Yes, of course. Thank you, Nat." Charlie pulls the other woman in a hug, Natasha reacting instantly and hugging her back.

Natasha had seen Charlie, or Maleficent more like, as a big sister/mother figure back in the Red Room Academy.

"You're welcome, Mal."

Charlie takes a breath in. She pulls away, looking around. No HYDRA agents.

"Don't say that name too loud."

"Are they still after you?" Natasha whispers, audible to Charlie only.

She nods, the motion barely a motion by how little it was. "I ran away. I escaped."

"And the Winter Soldier?"

Charlie shakes her head. Natasha nods.

"Okay, okay. Let's talk about this later in some where more private. Right now, I'm heading back to S.H.I.E.L.D. with Clint." Natasha hugs Charlie one last time before they both move over to the S.H.I.E.L.D. car.

She waves good bye to Clint as they both drive away.

Charlie strolls over to Tony and Steve, hugging Tony before he gets into his very nice car with Bruce. "Goodbye, Bruce."

"Bye, Char."

Charlie gets onto the motorcycle behind Steve, wrapping her arms around him.

"Home?"

"Home."
