the girl sighed as she slammed her phone on the bed beside her, eyes looking towards the ceiling.
after a few moments of dreading her mom's upcoming reaction, byeol began to make her way to the kitchen.
"mom?" she called out, the older turning around immediately.
"oh, hi, chieko," she smiled. "what's up?"
she slightly chuckled, mentally preparing herself to say the next sentence. "riki says he wants to meet you,"
the older nearly dropped her carrot peeler, immediately spinning around after byeol's words had processed in her mind. "like.."
"yes, mom. riki."
her mouth fell agape, "yes. tell him he can come over tomorrow for dinner."
"but mo-"
"don't argue with me. this is your soulmate we're talking about." she emphasized.
byeol held her hands up in a defensive position, "okay, mother, no need to get all feisty. i'll ask if he's good for that,"
her mom laughed, "besides, the kids are coming for dinner tomorrow. so it may be easier for you,"
"i hope so," byeol sighed out, reaching for her phone to text ni-ki.
