Let loose! Have fun! The group insisted multiple times, Lando was trying. He wanted to have fun but he also wanted to get back as soon as he could.

It was settled, he would go out for a few drinks with his friends, get back at a reasonable time and get on his flight early the next morning. Jon had other commitments but had faith in Lando to let him go around on his own.

"Stop behaving like an old man!" Alex chided.

"I don't want to be drunk out of my senses." He defended himself.

"You just won your first Grand Prix and I hope there's many more to come!" George smiled giving him another drink.

"Wish I could say that about your points." He shot back.

"Lando, there's no need to attack your loved ones! Hungary was good and Spa could have been better for him but let's not go there." Charles mediated the situation.

What should have been a relatively tame celebration took only a few drinks to go completely out of hand.

The next morning, Lando woke up on the floor of his hotel room, feeling like he had been hit by a bus. Everything hurt, he wasn't even wearing his own shirt, it was an ugly party shirt he wouldn't want to be caught dead in.

He looked at his phone, it was 10 am. FUCK! He yelled gathering all his things into a suitcase,he had missed his flight back. He noticed he had tonnes of messages and missed calls from his family. He heard knocks on the door, the Gods had heard him, it was Jon.

"Jon I fucked up big time, I have to get to London as soon as I can." He panted. "Fuck fuck fuck! I can't believe I just did this!"

"The helicopter for Brussels hasn't left yet, I can talk to Charlotte we can get you on. You might have to interact with fans, lots of them." Jon warned him.

"I don't care! I'll sign their foreheads if I have to, I just need to get to Claire as soon as I can."

Lando rushed through checkout, driving towards the Track's helipad as Jon spoke to Charlotte on the phone. Not only had she managed to get him onto this helicopter but also found a pilot who was willing fly him from Brussels to London.

"Thank you Jon, thank you Charlotte. What would I have done without you!" He exclaimed.

The entire transfer from one heliport to another felt like it had been going on forever, it was only when he could see the London skyline below him. He was almost there, just a few more minutes he calmed himself down.

It had been his lucky day, the route from the airport to the hospital was relatively empty and finding a taxi had not been too big of a hassle.

He barged into the building, running straight for the reception desk. The lady behind the desk looked funny at him while he took a moment to catch his breath.

"Good...morning-" he huffed, "Martin, Claire Martin, can I please... get her room number?"

"Sorry sir, please come back later these are not the visiting hours." She smiled apologetically.

"I'm not a visitor! I'm her partner! We're having a baby! I need to be there right now!"

"I'm afraid... room 201, you can use the lifts to get to the second floor."

"Afraid- never mind! Thank you!" He beamed.

He bolted up the stairs and made his way to the room, the door was shut and a nurse advised him against entering the room.

"But she's in there! We're going to be parents!"

"She gave birth early in the morning sir, she and the baby both need to rest." The nurse explained.

He felt like the ground beneath him had given away, the disappointment in his heart weighed so heavy. This was the one moment he had spent months dreaming about, and it had all slipped away.

He collapsed into one of the chairs outside, with his head between his hands. He felt like he had messed up big time.

"Lando? What are you doing here boy?" He heard a familiar voice ask.

He felt like his ears were ringing, he looked up to confirm his hunch. It really was his father, he stood up and walked towards him, hugging him tight without saying a word.

"Careful! I don't want to spill hot coffee on you." He father laughed.

"What are you doing here dad?"

"Dad-" he heard another voice, he looked at the room door which was now slightly ajar. His sister Flo poking her head out of the gap. She awkwardly waved at him before completely opening the door to invite them both in.

There she was, laying on the hospital bed fast asleep. A small cradle stood on the side of her bed, Ophelia was already here. He wanted to hold them both and celebrate, but he didn't want to disturb her peace.

He looked around and realised his mother and both his sisters were here too. He looked at them in confusion, furrowing his eyebrows almost as if to ask them what were they doing here.

"We've been with her the whole week." His mother whispered, "you may not be talking to me but I certainly want to be there for you."

Thank you, he whispered to them before giving them all a big hug. He was choking on tears, he was feeling so many things, all at once. He was happy that everyone was here, Claire and Ophelia were healthy but devastated that he missed her birth.

He sat in a chair, hiding his face and sobbing. He heard a tired chuckle, he looked up to see Claire trying to reach for his hand. He instantly scooted his chair closer to hold her hand.

"Why are you crying?"

"It's just, I'm so happy but then I'm sad too, I'm all over the place." He whispered.

"Did you see Ophelia?" She asked.

"Not yet." He admitted.

"Do you want to hold her?"

"Of course I do!"

"Go clean up first!" Cisca interrupted.

He nodded and walked away to wash his hands, he entered the room to see Cisca holding a small bundle of blankets. She smiled at him and asked him to come closer.

"Here you go, support her head!" She explained placing the baby in his hands.

She was still fast asleep, making small movements that made Lando jump. She was so small, it made his heart flutter.

"I love her, a lot." He smiled gently placing a kiss on her head. He looked at Claire who was smiling at him, tears brimming her eyes.

"Oh no, she's about to cry." He tensed up.

"Give me." Claire stretched her arms, he walked over and gently placed her into her arms. Ophelia let out a little coo and and opened her eyes and blinked.

"Hello Little Worm!" Lando smiled playing with her tiny hand that had come free. "You look just like your mum, the prettiest girl in the world." He smiled giving them both kisses.

"She has your eyes," Claire smiled patting Ophelia to sleep, "I mean they're grey-blue, there's a very high chance they look like yours."

"She has your hair, it's barely there but it's blonde." He smiled placing a kiss on Ophelia's head.

"Alright we'll leave you two to it, see you in a bit!" Adam smiled leaving the room with the rest of them.

"So, middle names," Lando looked at her thoughtfully, "how does Lesley sound?" He smiled cheekily.

"You are so lucky Ophelia is sleeping on me right now."
