Dabi's POV

It was dark outside, a sea of black stretched out into the infinity beyond my bedroom window with nothing but the faint glow of the distant moon to distinguish it from utter nothingness.

"Touyaaaaa you aren't watching the movie!" Cried the angry Shoto wedged tightly between Kimi and I on my tiny bed.

"I am I was just resting my eyes." I replied ruffling his hair which had gotten far longer than it should have and resulted in it obscuring his eyes from time to time.

"You're resting your eyes out the window?" He deadpanned causing Kimi to burst out laughing.

"Yeah Touya what was the last thing that happened?" Kimi questioned smirking at my squirming under Shoto's intense gaze.

"Umm you know ... everyone was trying on shoes and blondie is locked in the basement?" I guessed only to be smacked in the arm by Shoto repeatedly whilst Kimi once again couldn't contain her laughter.

"We're watching Sleeping Beauty Touya." She explained while I defended myself against my little brothers tiny fists. Damn for a nine year old this kid can hit.

"Okay you, I think that's enough fighting for tonight!" Kimi said loudly wrapping her arms around Shoto's stomach from behind and picking him up.

"But I almost had him ... I was going to do the Detroit Smash!" He explained yawning slightly.

"Oh I'd love to see that but right now it's past your bed time and you have to save your energy if you want to be able to beat up your big brother." She grinned whilst Shoto appeared to think on this before nodding in agreement.

"Jeez thanks for the support doll." I said in a monotone voice, sending her a wink to let her know I wasn't serious, not that it was needed. We have always been so in sync.

"You're welcome. Let's put this little hero to bed before he collapses." She smiled down at the already dozing Shoto in her arms.

"Too late" I laughed as we placed him in his own bed and returned to mine. It was one of the many occasions that my brute of a father was on hero business and I agreed to look after Shoto, so Kimi could stay the night.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked as we settled down in bed, her head resting lightly on my chest as I ran my fingers through her brown curls.

"Do you want kids?" I asked dreamily before feeling my breath hitch slightly. I didn't mean to say that out loud, damn she's going to think I'm a weirdo.

"I mean I already have one." She said causing me to jerk to look at her highly amused face.

"Peanut." She explained giggling at my confused expression.

"I mean ones that don't hate me. And preferably don't have feathers or a beak." I said relaxing back into the firm pillows behind me.

"Yeah I think I would. Sho would be a great godfather." She mused.

"Yeah he would. Though they may end up to be sarcastic little shits. Do you think ... do you think I'd be a good dad?" I ask quietly not sure if I wanted to know the answer.

"I think you'd be a brilliant dad." She smiled placing a feather light kiss on my lips.

***

My ears were ringing from the loud metal clanking noise of a metal door banging against concret, the dream I had just woken up from still dancing in my mind as I stared out at the concret wasteland that was my current home.

"Dabi get up, Twice has brought back a new recruit." Toga greeted before leaving immediately, clearly excited for the fresh meat that was unfortunate enough to want to join us. I dragged myself up from the cool ground, shaking my head to rid it of the memory I had been reliving and made my way to the front room only to be greeted by the League and a stranger.

"You brought a crazy big fish huh?" Shigaraki asked sarcastically eyeing up the man before him. I wasn't certain what he meant but the man was already giving me the creeps. His eyes stared out at us cat-like in their sharpness as he glanced at us all, as though he were making a mental note of our faces for future reference. But what made me the most uncomfortable was the plague doctors mask that curved from his thin face in a beak like fashion. Damn, why does everything I hate have to involve freakin' birds?!

"He's one of the Yakuza ... the head of the Shie Hassaikai. One of the criminal gangs that used to rule the streets before the reign of All Might." Compress explained to Toga who nodded along thoughtfully.

"So what's a Yakuza brat doing here? I thought you'd be celebrating All Might's retirement." Shigaraki went on, still not moving from his spot across the room.

"I don't really care about All Might. The loss of All For One is far more interesting." He said steadily, ignoring the quick intake of breath that Shigaraki had at the mention of All For One.

"You had Moonfish, Muscular, Stain ... all these top pawns and yet you lost them all? You didn't use them effectively." He went on, his sharp eyes fixed on Shigaraki who appeared to be getting angrier by the minute.

"Are you challenging me? I'm the next leader." He confirmed staring through the many hands that adorned his face.

"I can help you achieve your goal. I will be your next leader." The strange beak creep tried to reiterate. This is seriously going nowhere. I gazed off into the barred up windows at the darkening sky outside. How the hell did I end up here? As my mind filtered back to the conversation around me Magne ran towards the Yakuza, wielding her magnet as a club.

"Sorry Yakuza boy, we didn't come together to be under someone!" She shouted ready to strike. Before I could even understand what was happening he scratched her and her body exploded from the waist up in a deafening boom. I stared out at the scene before me in shock. Did-did that really just happen?! Before I could react Compress jumped into action trying to compress him into the marble like he did with the angry kid before. But again within a second his arm had exploded, ribbons of blood masking the air before falling to the ground pooling with the remains of Magne.

My breath caught. Is he going to kill all of us? Why do I not even care if he does? Would this be a better end than the countless other more grisly possibilities?

Shigaraki broke free from the group and lunged at the Yakuza thug ready to disintegrate him only to be blocked by more of his gang members breaking through the walls and surrounding their leader leaving Shigaraki to jump back and glare at the now protected Yakuza who murdered at least one of our members.

"I swear I wasn't followed! There was no one else I checked!" Twice cried frantically, clearly not coping well with what had just occurred.

"It must have been one of their quirks." Shigaraki said lowly, his voice barely distinguishable in the hollow space.

"Look I can see this isn't going anywhere right now. Take my card and let me know when you are ready to talk. There has been a loss on both sides either way." He said pointing to the small scratch on his forehead and throwing down a business card before Shigaraki's feet.

"Let me cut him Tomura." Toga said thickly, he eyes continuing to dart down to the bloodied mess that was once Magne.

"No." Shigaraki growled watching the young Yakuza leave with his fellow thugs.

"But Magne! Compress- his arm!" She and Twice declared raising to their feet.

"I said no. Not yet." Shigaraki ended, taking off the hand that stretched across his face and staring at us all with steady red eyes.

"This isn't over."
