Author's Note

Just wanted to put in a little warning here that Dabi is a bit emotional and as a result he uses a few curse words (more than I usually include). Once again a huge thanks for all the comments and favourites it means so much and honestly makes my day!

Kimi's POV

I stood awkwardly for a moment, watching Touya walk past me into the living room and settling himself down on the couch where Shoto had sat only moments before.

"Hey! What are you doing here? Do you know how dangerous it is for you to be here? And take your boots off you heathen!" I reprimanded looking at his clunky biker boots upon the light pine floor.

"Seriously Doll, that's what your concerned about right now?" He asked with clear annoyance as I raised a challenging eyebrow at him, before he sighed and took off his boots, placing them by the door.

"You realise that every single hero in Japan is after you and the League right?" I asked tentatively sitting down on the armchair across from him. This felt utterly strange, seeing Touya in his leather clad garments sitting on the homely peach couch. This home was one I shared with Keigo, it represented everything my life had become after I moved on from Touya and yet here he was, sitting in front of me looking utterly out of place and uncomfortable yet my heart still leaped at the sight of him.

"I know I'm kind of screwed right now but that doesn't matter there is something I have to tell you." He said seriously. Do not get distracted here. He will probably try and get you to come back with them.

"I'm not joining the League so if that's what you've come to ask me you might as well go back to wherever it is your little gang are staying." I said bitterly remembering their treatment of Bakugou.

"I'm not here to ... I'm not here to ask you to join the League. It was wrong of me to ask you to do that. I know you don't feel the same about hero society as I do but what I have to say now is more important. You're in danger." He said evenly moving a scarred hand out to clutch my smooth one.

"What are you talking about? Is it Shigaraki? There's no way Hawks will let him get to me." I said feeling Touya's hand tighten on my own.

"Not going to even comment on that winged bastard but Shigaraki isn't the problem right now. It's that creep you work with!"

"First off don't call him that! Secondly, what? Who are you even talking about?" I ask genuinely confused. Someone I work with? Is he seriously suggesting Recovery Girl is a secret villain out to get me?

"The doctor with the mutant quirk, he has four arms and he's working with the Hassaikai group. He's selling you out to Overhaul, their newest leader."

"Kenji?! As in the My Little Pony obsessed Kenji? No he's an ass but he wouldn't work with the mafia. You've definitely got this wrong Touya." I laughed but became quiet seeing his serious expression.

"Come on he wouldn't do that besides what would they even want with me? I'm sure they have plenty of healers in their organisation they don't need another." I tried to reassure him only to have him snort at my reaction.

"Damn it Kimi, I was tailing the head of the Hassaikai and I heard them talking. He was giving him your samples, he's using you and the time will come when that won't be enough. They're dangerous Kimi they could kill you!" He shouted back, his hands clamping down painfully on my own causing me to pull my hands back roughly.

"Look I've known Kenji for years, there is no way he'd get involved with people like that. I'll be fine Touya." I tried to reason with him, still rubbing at my hands which felt slightly burnt under his intense touch.

"Oh you think your chicken of a boyfriend can protect you from the fucking Yakuza?!" He growled back.

"Why do you always have to bring him into this? Are you seriously that jealous?" I retort angrily.

"Yes okay I am, are you happy now?!"

"Do I look happy Touya?!"

"I'd like to think not. Not with a gang of thugs using you as a fucking lab rat!" He bellowed back, his blue eyes flaring up like flames.

"I've worked there for years do you seriously think I wouldn't have noticed something illegal going on?"

"No you wouldn't because you don't think like a villain! You seriously think I'm going to just let you continue working there?" He said with exasperation.

"Let me?! You serious think you can stop me?" I spat back.

"And yes I don't think like a villain because news flash I'm not you Touya!" I continued watching his hands start to glow with fire at every word but at this point I was too angry to even care.

"You don't get to come to my home and start telling me what I can and can't do Touya. You haven't been in my life for years and I've made it this far without your help!"

"Because I've been watching out for you!" He growled back as we both stood up to face one another.

"Oh yeah and what a great job you've done. Since you came back into my life I've watched you turn a man to ash, had police watching my home, been abducted by the League of Villians and nearly killed by a man who has severed hands covering his body! How the hell do you think you've been looking out for me!? And what's more I don't need your protection!" I shot back watching him stutter, the anger in his eyes blazing over with sadness.

"I'm sorry I ... I think it's best that I leave." He whispered walking over to the door to put on his boots. I couldn't help but stare at his defeated figure slouched by the door frame. This didn't feel right and the anger that had simmered over in my earlier words slowly retreated into regret. Yet my own selfish pride held me back from speaking as I watched him open the door and mutter a faint 'goodbye Doll' before he left me once again alone.

Am I wrong for being angry? There is no way Kenji would work with the Yakuza right? They're thugs and criminals, Kenji is an eccentric scientist with a My Little Pony fixation. Those two just don't mix. Besides what would they even want with me? But then again why would Touya make that up? Why would he lie about something like that if he didn't want me to return to the League? He wouldn't manipulate me like that right? I mean he is technically a villain now so I can't exactly think about him as the same Touya I once loved ... even if he feels like the same person sometimes.
