It was pretty early for a text from Sophia, I got it around 10 which would be her 7 am.

Sophia:

Hey i know your dad told you already, but the case against your dad isn't going well, without any evidence of your moms abuse, and we could take a word from a criminal, and we just have you

I'm still working on it, trust me this will not go down without a fight

Hope:

Oh, okay I did not know that, well what can I do to help?

Sophia:

Nothing for now, but I'll keep you updated

Hope:

And you said my dad knows?

Sophia:

I've been contacting him since you guys left

Hope:

Okay well thank you

I put my phone down, and went to my dad who was innocently eating frosted flakes at the table. I sat across from him. I just stared at him, he looked confused while still eating.

"So I like how you make a big speech, and then proceed to lie to me even after you said you wanted me to tell the truth."

"What are we talking about?"

"Probably the fact that the case Sophia is building on my dad isn't going well without enough evidence of anything."

"When did you? How did you?"

"Dad. You're asking the wrong questions. Sophia texted me barely right now. Why didn't you tell me?"

CHRIS POV

I should've told her. Being my own hypocrite. I didn't answer, Hope had tears threatening to come out. Shit. After I didnt answer, Hope just went back to her room. I didn't know whether I should follow her or not.

I made my way to her room, and knocked. She didn't answer, and her door was locked. I went back to the kitchen where I got a call from Sophia.

"This seems a bit early for you, doesn't it?"

"Sorry, I hope I'm not interrupting anything, like you telling your daughter everything?"

"No, I'm not as of right now, Hope is in her room, after she confronted me."

"Well imma tell you what I told her, the emails are good but I dont know. It's going, but I'm not sure how well. Emails from 7 years ago, doesn't seem like enough, and a witness statement of a criminal that was charged with a restraining order, that according to her it wasn't her that hurt her sister."

"Do you believe her?"

"Honestly I do, I know Hope does. Speaking of her, go talk to her. She's probably trying to figure out everything. I'll call you if anything gets changed about the case, but I know if we take vague emails, and a criminal witness statement."

"Thanks, I'll let you go."

"I'll call you if anything comes up."

She hung up the phone, and I went back to Hope's room. I knocked again, but this time was a bit different. She opened the door, but instead of asking anything, or doing anything at all, she walked past me, and went to the backyard.

Before going fully, she made a pit stop and grabbed her knife box. She's gonna try to blow off steam, that's what I thought until I saw her shake her head, and put them down.
