I watched as Stiles steered Malia back into the classroom. "I hate math. It's pointless." She tried. "It's School." He reasoned. "School is important and Math is essential."

"To what?" She asked as she sat down.

"Knowing how much to tip at restaurants." Stiles said while Lydia gave him a look. "And less important things like Medicine, economics, engineering.."

"Tipping." Stiles pointed out again.

"All right, volunteers to the board." Ms Fleming said. "Lydia, Diego, Malia."

"Um... I didn't volunteer." Malia said.

"You did now. To the board." Malia turned around as Stiles gave her thumbs up and a cheeky smile. She growled under her breath at him and J let out an airy chuckle at how he paled.

"An axe murderer?" Kira asked as we walked down the hall with Stiles and Scott.

"A Family-murdering axe murderer." Stiles confirmed.

"I already heard about it." Scott spoke up.

"Wait. What? You did? How?" Stiles asked like rapid fire.

"My mom called me. She knew we'd see it on the news."

"Perfect. Let's go." He turned to start walking when Scott stopped him. "Woah, woah. We've got Econ in five minutes."

"Right. Did you forget the part about the family-murdering axe murderer?"

"Did you forget that your Dads the sheriff?" Scott asked rhetorically in the same manner. "They want us to stay out of it."

"Are you guys kidding me?" Stiles asked incredulously. "There's a family-murdering axe murderer and we're not gonna do anything about it?"

"Maybe we should just let the adults handle it." Kira shrugged.

"So the two of you, you just want to stay here. School, go to class. I've never heard anything so irresponsible in my life." He walked off.

"See you at tryouts?" Scott tried. I waved before following after him.

I sat with Kira and Malia on the bleachers as we watched the tryouts. "What's wrong with you?" Malia finally asked.

"Me? Nothing." Kira said, her voice slightly high with anxiety.

"You reek of anxiety. And it's distracting." Malia reasoned. "What's going on?"

"Scott and I sort've had this thing happen." She started.

"Let me guess, it wasn't what you thought? It was weird? Awkward?" I guessed, sketching in my notebook.

"Yeah, it wasn't much of a thing. And now I'm starting to thing it never was anything at all."

"What do you want it to be?" Malia asked her.

"More." She stared at the field. I looked up just as Stiles threw the lacrosse ball at the goal, the ball landing right in the goalies stick without him even having to move an inch. A freshman stepped up and threw the ball expertly, it going inside the goal.

"Yes!" Coach cheered.

"Oh, boy." I muttered. I watched as Scott stepped up and threw the ball, a smug look on his face. The look fell when the ball hit the rim of the goal, causing laughter from all his teammates.

Freshman kid made every single one while Scott kept missing and missing and missing. "Isn't the captain supposed to be one of the best players on the team?" Kira questioned. "Or good?"
