"Y/n I know this is a lot-" Your dad begins.

"A lot?! I mourned over you! I grieved! And you're just here as if nothing happened? As if you weren't just 'found dead in an abandoned building'." You angrily yell, making Kate join the both of you in the room as well.

"Clint?" She says, walking in, and putting down the gun.

"I can explain." He offers.

"Continue." You say with an attitude.

"I was being held in Germany, I managed to find a small slit in time where I had the chance to escape, the guards were changing shifts and it was a one time thing. I grabbed the guards gun, shot them all, I called your mother to immediately come and help me stage my death just so Kingpin would think I was found dead by the police. Your mother flew to Germany, we took the pictures. She brought me plenty of fake IDs, and passports. She gave me a burner phone and some cash, from there I flew to Sothern America (I have some friends down there). Then I came back into the states, I managed to find where you and Kate were staying, and I wasn't planning on visiting until the morning but I seen what was going on outside so I just had to help." He manages to say in just a few breaths.

"So mom was in on it?" You ask.

"She didn't respond to your calls because she knew you would be able to tell she was lying." He responds.

You don't respond to him.

"Y/n I know you're mad at me for this, and I understand, just don't blame her." He says, referring to Laura.

He knows that whenever there's been trouble in your life you've stuck on your dad's side, through everything you'd pick him over her, so It'd make sense if you blamed this on her for not telling you.

You rub your hands on your face tiredly.

"I love you dad, but I can't handle this until the morning." You say, walking to your room and shutting the door annoyingly.

"You're alive." Kate says, looking at Clint, not being able to believe the words coming out of her mouth.

"I am alive." He repeats.

"I just can't believe it." She says, pinching herself to make sure it's not all a dream.

"You can sleep on the couch if you need somewhere to stay, the bathrooms down the hall, and um... glad you're alive." Kate says, walking back towards your room awkwardly.

She shuts the door behind herself, walking back into bed.

"That was the craziest shit to ever happen." Kate says, laying down, staring at the ceiling, while beside you.

"I can't believe him and my mom lied to me." You say, turning to her.

"I know, but aren't you happy he's at least alive?" She tries to sympathize with you.

"I just wish he could've done it without making me think he was dead." You yawn.

"We can talk about it in the morning if you want." Kate says, noticing how tired you are from your life in the past hour.

Kate gives you a quick kiss on the cheek. "Goodnight love."

"Goodnight." You respond, yawning again.
