Really, I had no idea

Kate's POV-

"If we're taking her to the hospital we're going to need some that can translate." I say, holding a sweater on
Y/n's wound as she lays next to me barlry conscious in the backseat of the car. Yelena in the passenger seat and Clint in the drivers seat.

"I know some German." Yelena speaks out, turning back to me.

"Okay." I try to assure myself that everything will be alright, but I don't know if that's true. She lost so much blood, she had to have been sitting there for so long, in so much pain, and I didn't come to help her. I failed her.

Clint doesn't say a word, he keeps his eyes on the road, anxiously speeding through traffic as safely as he could. (Which isn't that safe.)

I'd be crying hysterically right now, but I'm trying to hold it in for Y/n.

Y/n's POV-

I wake up with an aching pain in my leg. (I'd assume it's because I was literally shot).

I look down, noticing Kate resting her head on my stomach while sitting on a chair beside me. I smile as I look at how peaceful she looks.

I look around and notice that we're in a hospital, (or at least what looks like a hospital).

I assume we're still in Germany because all the things I see handing on the walls are definitely not in English, or maybe I'm high on morphine. Who knows? The room we're in is considerably large for a hospital room or emergency room.

I clear my throat, not realizing I'd wake up Kate.

She sits up rubbing her eyes. "Y/n!" She says, immediately jumping up in a shocked state.

"Hi." I respond quietly and tiredly.

"How are you feeling?" She asks, giving me an anxious yet soft hug.

"My leg hurts, but other than that I'm just tired." I answer truthfully, looking up at her.

"Understandable, did you want me to go get your dad?" She asks, pointing towards the door, which I'd assume is just like a waiting room.

"Sure, but first come here." I say, grabbing her hand and giving her a quick kiss.

"I love you." I say, letting go of her hand.

"I love you more." She responds, then walking out to the door to get my dad.

I slowly push myself up so I'm not laying flat on my back anymore.

My dad walks in cautiously. "Y/n, do you remember all of what happened?" He asks, standing at the foot of my bed, not saying anything else.

"For the most part I think so..." I respond, thinking back to the former events that happened...I don't even know how long ago.

"You were shot in the leg." He 'informs' me.

I look down at my leg. "Really, I had no idea."
