ONE WEEK LATER
"We'll discuss the deal at a later time. I'll keep in touch then, thanks." I said sternly before hanging up with the dial tone echoing in my ears. I placed down the phone and slumped on my desk chair, trying to feel more at ease.
I closed my eyes momentarily before angling my head to the left in order to see the latter in the room, "How long are you going to be sitting there for?"
Taehyung sat on the beige leather sofas, his hair dampened and flat with sweat. He donned a simple plain black crew neck t-shirt paired with matching slacks.
"Seriously Tae, go take a shower or something." I joked, swiveling around on my chair.
"You think I want to be in this state?" He rolled his eyes, with his arms crossed against his chest.
"I don't know about that, but one thing I know for sure is Seohyun will kill to see the sight of you right now..." I chuckled, a smirk plastered across my face.
"Ha ha very funny.." He scoffed with a pout.
"I'm kidding Tae but what brings you here?" I asked.
Taehyung ruffled his wavy locks, "How'd the call go?" He hunched forward with his elbows resting on his thighs and his eyes looking up to meet mine.
I nodded slowly, "Alright though he kept going on about his stupid conditions. Seriously how do people come eye to eye with him?" I huffed, kissing my teeth while recalling the tiresome conversation.
"Yeah... Seo Dong-Nam is infamous for being such a dickhead. This is why we never made deals with him in the past." Taehyung chortled, amused by my infuriation.
"Right so Namjoon insisted on me taking the call." I sighed.
"Hey, you managed it well and even kept your composure. I'm sure if Joon had taken the call it would most likely be Dong-Nam's funeral as of now." Taehyung pointed out as he leaned back once again with his arms on the back pillows and legs spread out.
I laughed at his response, "That's reasonable."
There was a period of silence in the room as Taehyung responded to a message. I stared at the blank wall ahead of me while humming quietly, a weak smile on my face. I spun around once again on my chair.
"Honestly, I'm worried about being an advisor, just imagine if I had chosen to be the fucking boss instead..."It still felt quite awkward and foreign having my own office and just being an advisor overall but I wanted to show the people that I made the right choice; especially to those who still distrusted me being in such a highly position.
Taehyung stood up, tucked his phone into his pockets and approached the closed blinds. He rolled them up allowing the late afternoon sunrays pour and engulf the dark office room; the sun shone brightly with not a cloud present.
"I'm gonna be serious right now and tell you to stop worrying. You're already doing amazing and that phone call is solid proof. Besides if anyone holds doubt, I'll give them a piece of my mind— all of us will in fact." Taehyung said eloquently as he gripped onto the top of my chair.
"Oh the second part of that claim does sound quite entertaining." I replied, clicking my finger which caused Taehyung to chuckle in response. He leaned forward and picked up the loose papers that were sitting lifelessly on the table.
"You want me to go meet up with Dong-Nam instead?" Taehyung suggested, scanning the details.
I shot up from my seat, "Wait are you being serious? That would literally be like so, so kind of you!" I replied, excitedly and he smiled back warmly.
"But in that case, you have to do me a favor." He quirked an eyebrow.
"Anything you want."
"You know how I spoke to you and Yoongi about engaging to Seohyun... well I would like it if you could help me choose out a ring, I need some opinions." He muttered under his breath. I gave him no replies, just a little nudge by the elbow.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" He mumbled, biting his bottom lip.
"Nothing— just find it entertaining seeing the Taehyung get all flustered... I might need some tips from Seohyun actually." I teased.
"Honestly you make me regret telling you anything." Taehyung groaned. I was about to say something when the double doors swung open.
"Erm what's going on in here..?" Yoongi asked, an eyebrow arched.
"Nothing, absolutely nothing." I said, gesturing for the older Bangtan member to come inside the office.
"I was being nice and offered to meet up with Dong-nam but this one started teasing me." Taehyung said through gritted teeth as he shot me an icy glare.
"Enough both of you, I came here to drop off some files." Yoongi sighed, dropping the documents from his clasps onto the desk.
I slid the top file towards me. It was distinctly thicker than the rest, highlighting its level of importance. I read out the word stated on the label, "Credente"
"So the Italians did end up giving us an answer." Taehyung added on, also taking an interest in the file.
Yoongi perched himself on the edge of the table and watched the both of us intently examining at the papers.
"Yeah took them long enough... anyways their boss is going to be flying in around a few months from now." Yoongi stated, pursuing his lips.
"What about the drug... shit what was it called again?" I asked, looking desperately for the name in the documents.
"La Mia Fortuna also known as LMF... he said he'd bring a sample for us to inspect but it's still in it's developing stage and that the matter would be discussed once he arrives in Seoul." Yoongi cut in, tapping his long pale fingers on the desk.
"Mm I see, well no point wasting time thinking about it now." I replied, slouching down my chair.
Yoongi nodded and took the file, closing it tightly. "How did the call go? Namjoon filled me in... you spoke to Dong-Nam, right?"
"Like I said to Tae, it was alright but the guy is incredibly infuriating." I scowled, swatting the air showing my visible frustration causing both Taehyung and Yoongi to break into laughter.
As soon as the hysterics died down, Yoongi motioned towards Taehyung with his head. "So why are you here exactly?"
"Actually since you're here too, maybe we should all go." Taehyung suggested exachanging glances with me. Yoongi looked at him with a clueless expression.
"Mr. Lover Boy here wants some help going ring shopping." I filled in. Yoongi arched his eyebrows and coughed.
"You mean, you're serious about getting married?" He uttered to which Taehyung nodded back shyly.
I glimpsed at Taehyung then back at Yoongi, "What do you say Yoongi?"
"Well it won't kill to go out after a while, but I'm leaving the ring hunting to you two." He sighed, sweeping his newly dyed mint hair back.
"Let's hurry up and go then." Taehyung exclaimed whole-heartedly as he practically pushed us out of the room from sheer joy.
