|Arthur's POV|

"Arthur?!" Gramps' eyes widened as he, as well as the few hundreds of Dicathians sat dumbfounded at not only my new appearance, but also seeing first hand of what I'm capable of. The Lances were the first to recover, walking cautiously over towards me.

"How do we know you are truly who you claim to be?" Varay is the first to question me, standing only two feet away. Her eyes narrowed as suspicion settles on her face. I chuckle lightly at her suspicions nature, she was always the least trusting of the Lances besides Bairon.

"Remember that time we were walking up the stairs of the floating castle and I bumped into you and you squealed like a—"

"Yeah it's him." She quickly cut me off as she flusters at the memory. I simply nod in response as Mica walks in a circle around me with curiosity and wonder glowing in her eyes like a child that's found a pretty jewel. Lance Aya smiles at me, nodding in greeting. She looked tired, a bit thinner than before, likely from tirelessly training. Bairon on the other hand, cocks an eyebrow at me as his eyes trail over my form.

Gramps was the first to approach me, pulling me into a tight hug. He too, seemed to have lost weight, his tired eyes a bit sunken with age and stress.

"I'm glad your still with us, Arthur. It's been a hard time for us all. I can't imagine what you've been through." He says with a quiet sigh. I could tell he was in pain, not physically, but mentally and emotionally. Not only did he loose his son and daughter-in-law, but very nearly lost Tess too. I am quick to return the hug, it was reassuring in a way. After all that was lost, we still made it out alive despite the odds being against us all.

"Brother!" My attention turns to a lean girl with brown hair, brown glistening eyes that ran through the crowd. Virion releases me, only for me to be captured in my sisters embrace. She was trembling, her shoulders shook under her quiet sobs. I hushed her, running my hand through her hair as she wets my shirt with her tears.

My heart throbs in my chest, yet a feeling of overwhelming relief took hold of my body and mind. I could see my mother, who was rushing towards me with tears streaming down her face, smiling. She too, hugs me tightly.

I slowly guide us down to the ground, all of us now on our knees. My wings slowly unfolding from my back, stretched out before reaching forward. They curled around the shaking form of my sister and mother, white feathers brushing softly against them as Ellie opens her eyes. I smile at the awe and curiosity glowing in my little sisters brown eyes as she reached out, caressing my feathers gently.

"So you're half bird now?" She asked. Giggles ripple throughout the crowd near us at hearing her question. I shook my head as I chuckle at her lightheartedness.

"More than just half bird it seems." At hearing her voice, my head lifts as I watch my adopted daughter, along with the twin horns approach. Sylvie touches my feathers lightly, a bright smile forming on her face.
