Ashland's POV:

"It's just so damn peaceful out here. I'm shocked that you were willing and able to come out here with me, being six months pregnant and all. Anyway, more about my story, I was asking my buddy, Travis, but he had something planned already so then it gave me the brilliant idea to invite you out," Jon explained, steering the boat slightly around in the water.

I blushed a little, caressing my tummy a bit after he said the pregnant remark, "Just 'cause I'm six months pregnant doesn't mean I can't do things like I used to before this whole shebang that's happened to me in the last six months. I'm just so super thankful that you're apart of this journey with me also."

He smiled genuinely, nodding his head, "Don't mention it, Ashy cash. There's no one else's journey I'd rather be apart of than yours, of course. Being your boyfriend and the father to our unborn girls, man... I've gotta say, I'm the luckiest guy alive right now. Falling in love with you was the best, unexpected thing to ever happen to me. And the twins were also the best and unexpected things to happen to me! Uh, well the best and unexpected things to happen to me and you, as you are carrying and homing the two little ones!"

Sadly, the slow movements of the boat rocking was making me seasick. But that's because I've always been the type to get seasick whenever I'm on a boat or plane. But hearing Jon's voice made me kind of feel a better and not think about the motion and nausea.

We finally made it to the lake and of course, right when we had got there, J somehow forgot to bring his boat from the farm, so we had to go right back on the road so he could get the thing we had came here for; how on earth does he forget to swing by and get the most important thing for a lake? It beats me, but fortunately he was able to go and get it to the boat trailer that's attached to his truck.

The lake is just beautiful, the last time me and Jon had went out here, it was about four-ish months since we had met back then and there was a party! It was a 4th of July celebration thing, everyone had boats galore out on the water, but me and J had stayed back  on the land part to do our own little thing.

It was so funny, his friend whose name I don't remember right off-hand had planned out the whole 4th of July get-together and Jon himself didn't even want to come. However, he did bring me along so it made it a little more bearable for him- I think!

The more I think and look back on it, the more fun and memorable everything was. It was so fun and getting to be with my good pal only made things even more wonderful! That 4th of July is definitely hard to forget- I remember it every single July, to be honest. Those are the kind of memories that will last a long, long time!

Flashback to 4th of July a few years back:

Today is a very fun and exciting day; it's the 4th of July! Normally, my plans on the patriotic holiday is to sit at home, drink a glass of wine, do a jigsaw puzzle, and then sit out in the backyard to watch fireworks, if anyone's even doing them in the neighborhood. Chances are, they more than likely are doing them; there's no reason why they wouldn't.

While pondering about the pretty fireworks and the other festivities that everyone was going to be happening all over the country, my phone was ringing, thus the device telling me that there was an incoming call from someone.

Now who on earth could be trying to reach me today? Surely most of my friends have things planned and everything so perhaps it's one of the spam callers or something along those lines.
