Jon's POV:

The bed dipped and I checked the time on my phone that was on the nightstand and I about fell off of the bed from the bright screen.

It's 6:30 in the morning- why is Ash up this damn early? Are the twins crying? I would've heard it from the little baby monitor we have in our bedroom. Then, I checked the date and it was the 25th.

So that's why Ashland is up so dang early; it's one of her favorite holidays! She's always up super early when it comes to this particular winter holiday.

With a stretch of my legs, I had walked downstairs and into the kitchen where Ashland was cooking and preparing baby bottles of formula for the twins.

As a surprise, I snuck up behind her, hugging her waist tightly and greeting her with a kiss on the cheek. In response, she just laughed and told me to cut it out- which isn't surprising. She likes my clinginess and affection, but there are times where she won't be in the mood for it, which is fair.

"Jon.. Good morning, handsome," She said to me in a whisper-like manner.

"And a good mornin' to you, too. You need any help in here?" I asked, noticing that she was scrambling all over the place in the kitchen.

"No thank you, I'm fine! Just make sure that when the girls wake up, to bring them downstairs; I'm still in the midst of getting their bottles prepped."

Since Ashland didn't want any of my help, I went up the stairs and then an idea popped into my head as soon as my bare feet had hit the hardwood staircase... I should give Ash the present that I got made for her! That might boost her spirits up.

I know why she's in a somewhat bad mood; this is the first Christmas without her father.. And though this present might not be the best in taste with why she's in a sour mood, maybe it might bring a smile to her beautiful face.

Once in the bedroom, I rummaged in the closet until I found the gift wrapped box that I had wrapped a few weeks ago. What I got for Ashland's Christmas gift is a custom-made photoshop picture of her dad and the twins. Since he wasn't alive to see their birth, I thought this would be a sweet gesture and present. Will she cry? More than likely, but I think she'll love it.

I held the wrapped up gift box in my arms, soon making my way back down the stairs and when I entered the kitchen for the second time this morning, Ash had a puzzled expression on her face, a bit confused on why I had a huge box in my arms. She soon put two and two together, her eyes widening when she realized it was a gift for her.

Settling it down on the countertop, I smiled crookedly and then rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly, soon biting down on my bottom lip before explaining to her that it was a present for her.

"Umm... I got you something for Christmas, baby girl. I know it isn't the most expensive gift in the world, but it's the thought that counts, no?" I muttered nervously in which she had laughed in response.

"Babe! You know I don't care about how expensive anything is. You could have bought me a shirt on clearance and I'd love it because you thought about me and gave it to me!" Ashland rejoiced as she then came up to me, planting a kiss on my cheek.

"Well go on, open it! I'm excited for you to see what it is," I replied back, watching as Ash had begun to unravel the wrapping paper off of the box.
