Chapter 81: Just a Hint of Trust

"Hello there, Overhaul, Midoriya. Glad you two have finally met."

"Pucci! Glad you're here! We need help beating this villain!"

Pucci floated down from the edge of the hole right next to Midoriya. The two of them stood there staring at Overhaul.

Overhaul spit out of his mouth.

"I knew you couldn't be trusted. And here I thought someone like you could have at least understood."

Midoriya stared at Overhaul even harder.

"Did you... just spit inside your mask?"

C-Moon kicked behind Midoriya's knees, followed up with a backhand from Pucci.

"Not the time. And Overhaul.."

Pucci turned to Overhaul.

"I hope that cleared things up."

"At least we're both on the same page."

Midoriya crawled out of the hole that Pucci made after sending him into a nearby wall.

"So.. the rumors were true after all. I... I really didn't want to believe it Pucci. I really didn't.."

"Rumors? So it seems that my actions have reached the public."

Midoriya took a battle stance. His body was sparking with electricity, far more than Pucci had ever seen before. And behind him on his back was a little girl.

"I can't believe you.. a friend of mine.. would betray us like this! And help this monster!"

"Wait until you find out about Ao-"

Pucci closed his mouth before anything else could leak out.

"Too early."

Pucci looked at Overhaul, beaten up and maimed.

"Looks like child protection services hit you hard."

"Shut it Pucci. Let's just get this fight going."

Pucci and Overhaul crouched before speeding towards Midoriya.

Overhaul and C-Moon threw wild punches and kicks at Midoriya. Each of them were blocked or dodged with intense speed.

Midoriya kicked Pucci away into another part of the lair.

"ACK!"

Pucci could feel the air getting pushed out his lungs. He coughed up a bit of blood before examining his wounds.

"He was holding back. I remember him hitting a lot harder then this."

Pucci stood up only to have Overhaul crash into him. He pushed Overhaul out of the way and stood up.

"He's a lot faster than I remember. And.."

Pucci looked down at his chest.

"Even with C-Moon blocking it, I still took so much damage."

Overhaul stood up right next to him.

"He's still too strong.."

Overhaul looked at Pucci.

"I hope you don't mind this."

He threw his hand right in front of Pucci's face.

"You traitor!"

Overhaul's hand reached Pucci. His finger made contact with Pucci's skin..

Or so it seemed.

"I've been waiting to try this out for a while now."
