"Missing you comes in waves,
tonight I'm drowning."

I watched the TV with my lip trembling, trying to keep the tears at bay

I watched the TV with my lip trembling, trying to keep the tears at bay. The sound of my phone ringing brought me back up as I answered with my hands shaking. "Lainey."

"Tony oh my God are you alright? Please tell me you're not in there." I placed a hand above my chest praying to not get a panic attack.

"Yeah I'm fine, I just think we're gonna need to push our eight thirty res."

"What? Why?" I kept my eyes on the screen as it showed the ship in the sky disappearing over and over.

"Just cause, I'll probably wont make it back for a while

"Just cause, I'll probably wont make it back for a while." My heart fell to my stomach. I felt sick, bile raising to my throat. Anything, everything can happen, but not this. I can't lose him. I'd trade places in a heartbeat, just for him to carry on.

"Oh no Tony you come back right now. Come back right now, or I swear to God Tony I'll blow up your garage." He kept mumbling 'I'm sorry' over and over until... "Tony?" the line went dead. "Tony!"

I covered my mouth to hide a choked sob. The last thing I said to him was that I didn't want to do this anymore. I tried to calm myself. I hadn't told him, he wasn't in the right place. I wasn't sure if he'd be happy or drown himself again.

"Mom?" Teddy walked into the living room with Pepper behind him, she'd offered to go pick him up when the donut-ship landed knowing I was in no shape, I could barely walk let alone drive.

"Hey baby." I kissed his forehead as he wrapped an arm around me looking at the TV where a photo of Tony was displayed along his disappearing. "He's all right, he just called me." Teddy had grown tall so fast at only nine years he reached my shoulder. I knew he wanted to go after Tony since he built his own Iron Man suit, that was a very long debate. Ending in him only trying it around. I'd kill them both if he dared to become an Avenger.
