The Gegenees were a race of six-armed giants.

Powerful warriors of Greek mythology.

They inhabited the same island as the Doliones in ancient Greece.

And were also called Gegeines.

I sat by the dining table as my nails tapped fussily against the wood. It was covered in a white silky cloth with immaculate designs. I could barely point out a single stain. The white covering complemented the green-filled environment while creating a sharp contrast to everything else. Whoever designed this place knew what they were doing.

It's been almost an hour and a half and there was still no message from Liam. I tried asking one of the bouncers to find out what was going on, but he shook his head and stepped away, almost afraid to speak to me.

Duke noticed my fidgety state and explained that it'll be best if we didn't distract Liam. Calling him meant I was in danger, and that is distracting enough. He promised that Liam will reach out as soon as he was done.

I snapped out of my wandering thoughts when a bouncer laid a cup of tea with sandwiches on my table.

A female.

"Just a little something to get you by."  She smiled sweetly at me with red cherry-dipped lipstick.

Before I could question it, she sauntered out of sight. I rarely see female bouncers in star-crossed inc. Whenever I do, they disappear the next minute. I voiced it out to Eros and he said their jobs are mostly done away from star-crossed inc. These jobs include finding runaways who owed him money or discovering clients who are looking for investments.

It was the kind of job that required intellect and skilled combat. Two things he believes are better suited for women -- in addition to the element of surprise. Runaways will never expect a woman to saunter into their home in high heels and beat the crap out of them. Eros also liked their torturing methods. 'It's delightful' he called it.
