Standing beside the god of the underworld is one of the strangest things you could ever experience. Apart from the odd feeling of having your soul gravitate toward him like the planets are to the sun, there is this overbearing notion of having your lifeforce being sucked away.
It's something he could easily accomplish if he wanted to vanquish his enemies straight to the underworld. And with Pandora being one of his old enemies, I knew she could feel it too.
"You want to save my brother?" Hade's gaze remained vacant as he watched Pandora with a twisted smile. "What if Poseidon is conscious? He will rip you to shreds before you can even register what is happening."
Pandora scoffed, her look distasteful. "Penny and I will handle it. I'll watch over her the same way you do with Hunter. If Penny dies, I die too and I can't let that happen. Besides, Poseidon will have to cooperate if he wants to escape and kill Epimetheus. Now run along to Dionysus like a good little boy."
There's one thing I've learned when it comes to the gods and their vessels. The Greek gods have a short fuse as compared to their mortal counterparts. And while Hunter will just ignore that last statement Pandora made, Hades didn't. The god of the dead loomed over her, his face an icy impenetrable gaze. "Watch your tongue, mortal. You wouldn't want me breaking my promise to Penny."
