It felt so... Comforting to finally have you back in my life.

I couldn't explain to you why it felt that way, but for some reason, it just did.

We put the ugly past behind us, and we got along, just like we promised.

Sure, it took a while to warm up to each other, fully─we had different friend groups now, and Jisung and Felix still despised you─but we made a strong effort to become as close as we were before.

We both still wanted that friendship that we had when we were kids, and that was our driving force.

We met up on weekends (in secret). We hung out after school (in secret). And we got along pretty well in class.

Of course, it was difficult having to tiptoe around my family and friends. Jisung and Felix still thought I was avoiding you, and my mum and sister assumed you were completely out of the picture, so it was rather hard having to lie whenever we went out.

But somehow, that made it more fun...

I liked the thrill of having to keep things a secret. It was exhilarating, in a strange way.

I was doing nothing bad, but it was still fun to keep up a lie about you, like we were dating without my parent's permission, or something.

And I even managed to keep the lie up all the way until the end of May, until I let it spill to Felix and Jisung after you told me some rather unexpected news.

And the news was about Sangkwan.
