__________

The thickeness of the dust on the window flew away as the wind blew animatedly. I like the toughness of the wind, I liked how it makes the curtains dance with the same rhythm. I closed my eyes as I found myself relaxing by the gentle touch of the wind. It's really refreshing especially how it helps to start my day. I breathed out the air from my lungs before I opened my eyes again for another venture.

I combed my hair, tied it neatly making sure no hair strands would stand out while I'm working. I gently put aside my only blue hairbrush under my pillow. Facing to the door, I exhaled one more time before opening it.

Summer was just two weeks away but I never enjoyed doing recreational activities. Never been a fun with it since I lived and left in orphanage. But I liked summer, that means I don't have to dealt with some bully kids at school. I was once told it to my teachers but they never listened to me. No one listened to my cries every time I became their victims again. I didn't even tell it to my mom and my older sister because they help me nothing.

It's probably her new boyfriend. I sashayed my way to the kitchen then I saw my younger sister sitting at the kitchen island, painting her nails like she's a pro.

"Stop that, hindi pa nga tapos ang academic year pinipinta mo na agad yan." I slapped her leg but not too hard to not feel the hurt.

"Ano ba?!

She gathered all the nail polishes, then stormed out of my sight. I shook my head in disbelief. Good gracious she's too stubborn. Palibhasa bunso kasi kaya ganun. She's hard to pleased.

No one could make a nice breakfast especially at this very early morning. Ako lang ang minsan naghahanda ng pagkain, mom knew how to cook but she's still upstairs. May kasama siyang lalaki kagabi baka puyat yun.

I am no stranger of my mom's occupation and popularity in our hometown. She's prostitute. Whether I like it or not, dun kami nabubuhay sa kita niya.

As long as she's keeping that so-called profession of her, I'm secured, financially and even shelter.

Matron didn't want us doing nothing. She wanted us  to work our assigned chores. Ang kapalit kasi nun ay education namin. I was thought to read, write, counting, spellings, then sa mga school subjects na mayroon din sa normal schools. We were home schooled— I was home schooled because we're not allowed to go outside.
