It was all silent for a moment before we heard a familiar growl.

"Gregory... you heard that?"

"We're fucked..."

"Hey Monty! I uh... if you uh..."

"Speak!" Gregory rushed me.

"IF YOU DON'T GO AWAY I... uh— I'LL SHOCK YOU!"

The growling only got more aggressive.

"Y/n...!" Gregory whisper-yelled.

"What?"

"You don't say that!"

"So what? I'll do it."

I could hear smack— possibly Gregory slapping his face again.

"Well we need to get out of here!"

"You don't got a flashlight?" I asked.

"The batteries ran out..."

"Fuck..."

I sat there in my thoughts for a moment.
The mask... the mask! THE MASK!
I quickly took off my bag and fumbled it around, trying to open it in the dark. I finally was able to unzip it and felt around for the security mask.
I felt it and yanked it out, putting it on.
As I put it on, I could see the room lighten up with brightness and everything was visible.

"Gregory! I can see!"

"No fucking way."

"Yes way!"

"How? Tell me your secrets!" Gregory reached out to me, feeling for my hand.

"Hey! Don't touch me there!"

"Sorry, woman! Ugh! I can't see!"

"Okay stop moving— I can see clearly."

"Right." I saw Gregory stand still, his eyes looking like he was spaced out.

I grabbed his hand.

"Okay... listen to me okay?" I whispered.

"I'm listening..."

"I will grab ahold of your hand and get us the hell out of here..."

"Got it."

I looked around after a few more growls were heard.
I looked at Gregory and he was technically shutting bricks at this point. His entire body was shaking and he had a drip of sweat going down his forehead.

"Okay... I'm gonna let go for a moment."

"What? What for?" Gregory sounded distressed and nervous.

"One moment."

I looked over at the wall of boxes and thought of a brilliant idea.

"I got it." I mumbled, picking up a box and stacking it.

"What? What are you doing?"

"Shut up Gregory."

"Ugh." He groaned, annoyed.

I kept stacking the boxes, blocking the way of Monty to even come here. Maybe he'll think this wall of boxes is just... boxes against a wall. He'll never know!

"Okay... halfway there."

"Doing what?" Gregory whispered.

"Making a wall."

"Huh...?"

"Yep."

"Are you dumb?!"

"Shush!"

"Answer me!"

"IM NOT DUMB! Can't you be qui-?"

We all stopped dead in our tracks as we heard sniffing beside the boxes.

"Don't..."

"Shh." Gregory shushed me.

Monty sounded like a hungry metal hyena pacing back and forth, looking and smelling for food nearby. We stood completely still, not moving a single muscle.
Both of us didn't wanna become shredded meat for dinner tonight, wouldn't we?
Monty stopped for a second before whimpering like a dog hungry for food. Good god, what has he become? From a tough gator to a whiny canine? What is even happening to him at this point.
Why doesn't he just give up and leave the Pizzaplex?
It doesn't make sense to me why he is trying to kill us...

"Gregory... back up."

I looked at him and he backed away a few feet away from me. Great.
I slowly and quietly began stacking the boxes, stopping every once in a while as Monty sniffed them.
Suddenly, Monty pounced on one of the boxes, taking out some bunny plush and shaking his head around. The plushes' stuffing was being ripped and torn out, covering the floor. The fabric? It was black and had holes from where Monty's teeth were.
I stared at the wild animal in shock. What the hell. Just what the hell...
Speaking of the fabric, it looked like a light blue... teal perhaps? I don't know. The mask made items tinted with purple and pink. It was hard to tell sometimes.
I dug into another box and took out some crappy Mr. Hippo magnet.

I whistled and caught Monty's attention, his eyes staring into mine.

"Catch it, boy!"

I threw the magnet across the room, sending Monty to go get it.

"Oh shit! HAHAHAHA!" I ran to Gregory and grabbed his left hand, yanking him to the door under some dim lighting.

"Did you see that?!" I laughed.

"Uhhh... no. What happened??"

"I threw some magnet at Monty and he ran to get it!"

Gregory bursted into tears at what I said.

"You're joking!"

"Am so not!" I slapped his hand away.

"You're such a joker.." Gregory crossed his arms, smirking.

"Okay, bird eyes." I teased.

"Excuse me?"

"BIRD EYES!"

"I do no-!"

We both went quiet as the Mr. Hippo magnet slid to our feet.
I slowly looked over at Gregory, both of us wide-eyed and mouth agape.

"Gregory..."

"Yeah..?"

"I need you to run... the fastest you've ever ran."

He shivered as a growl came from the dark, red pupils approaching us.
