I fed my dog a donut today,
I wonder what he would say,

if he could talk,
as we went on a walk,

I fed my dog a donut, just to see,
if animals get happiness, same as we,

as I gave him that donut, he,
grinned and barked up at me,

telling me thank you,
in that dog language he is one to use,

I fed my dog a donut, to figure out,
if happiness is anything he cares about,

and it turns out, from human to animal,
happiness is a trait that is worth something after all.
