"Life's a gamble," my father said.

"What if we lose?" my mother asked.

"You have to take chances," my father said.

"Be realistic," my mother said.

"You don't know what lies ahead in life if you don't venture into the unknown," my father said.

"I don't want to know," my mother said.

"If you don't want to know, aren't you just taking a chance?" my father asked.

"No, it means I'm keeping in mind that realistically, I can't predict the future," my mother said.

"But you can alter it somewhat, can't you?" my father asked.

"I guess so," my mother said.

"You have to take chances to alter your future," my father said.

"I don't want to take chances," my mother said.

"Don't you want to get ahead in life?" my father asked.

"Life is not about getting ahead," my mother said.

"That's all that life's about, moving forward," my father said.

"It is not," my mother said.

"You want to achieve something in life, don't you?" my father said.

"No, I simply want to live life," my mother said.

"Well, unlike you, I'm going to take a gamble at life," my father said.

"Don't waste your money," my mother said.

"I know my limitations," my father said.

"Who am I?" I asked, joining the conversation.

"You are a gambler," my father said.

"You are realistic," my mother said.

"No. I am a logical risk-taker."
