"Diamond rings and old barstools,
one's for queens and one's for fools,
one's the future and one's the past,
one's forever, and one won't last.It ain't like midnight cigarette smoke,
it ain't like watered down whiskey and coke,
I guess some things just don't mix like you hoped,
like me and you, diamond rings and old barstools."Diamond Rings And Old Barstools - Tim McGraw
~~~
I'm a fighter, not a lover
I'm changing that phrase
I'm not a lover, I'm a fighter
I fight for what's right
I fight for what's mine
I fight, often
She's a lover, not a fighter
and You're a lover, not a fighter
you both won't fight
you won't fight for anything
always trying to keep the peace and harmony
You're both lovers, and you'll never fight
She's a lover, and that's why you love Her
lovers don't love fighters, and in the rare cases they do
fighters become lovers for a while
and things are all good for the moment
but I'm just a fighter
fighters are meant to fight alone
because two fighters doesn't make things right
you need a fighter and a lover, perfect combination
they may fight, but they'll also love
two lovers is too loving for me
but they work together all too well
which makes it hard for either to leave
makes it easy for both to stay
but you both want to leave
and if She leaves, You will too
a fucked up version of Romeo and Juliet
because you love each other
and you care about each other
much, as most lovers do
and I fought for you, you know I did
I still fight for you, fight your battles
because a rose and a sword work well together
they're just not meant for forever
I'm a fighter, and I'll fight this world alone
because I don't fear death nor pain
I fear being put into a cage
so I'll fight for my freedom from this damned society.
I'm tired of fighting.
