I jumped into the creek
wearing nothing but a bra and shorts
I was alone
I'm always alone
I thought no one was at the creek
it's in the middle of nowhere
nobody lives round these parts
so I jumped in and swam
I could feel someone looking at me from behind me

"Didn't your ma ever tell you not to sneak up on women like that, mister?"

"She did, but I don't think she was talking 'bout pretty women like you"

"Chance, you bastard! Hand me my shirt and jump on in."

"Will do, my lady!"

You hand me my shirt from behind me
and I slip in on, then turn around to face you
and give you a hug

"I thought you'd be off to college by now!"

We swam a little ways down the creek
and I looked at you and smiled
and you smiled back
and made me watch you do a back somersault in the water

"Since when do you have a tattoo on your stomach, huh?"

"Since I got enough money to go get one?"

"What's it of, I didn't look at it properly."

You smirk and ask me if I'd like to look at it properly
I laugh and playfully slap you, saying no
you're such a naughty boy, you know
and I ask you again what it's of

So you kissed me, in the water
and your lips tasted like the creek
and it felt nice
it felt good on my lips
and I felt

"Happy."

I laugh a bit
you laugh a bit
we kiss again
and I'm a bit happier today
