So I accidentally kinda skipped one of the major news before skipping into the whole December Holidays thing sooo...

This chapter takes place somewhere around like November mid.

Well Quidditch selections have been going on since one of the chasers have graduated from Hogwarts so there was a lot of hustling in the common room that day as selections was going to happen.

As for now the Gryffindor Quidditch team had:

1. James Sirius Potter- Seeker (6th year) ----- CAPTAIN------

2. Rose Granger Weasley- Chaser (4th year)

3. Heather Jones- Chaser (4th Year)

4. ----FREE SLOT--- -Chaser (?)

5. Fred Lee Weasley- Beater (6th year)

6. Justin Hopewell- Beater (5th year)

7. Miles Evermore- Keeper (5th year)

The 3rd year batch basically sucked at flying brooms for some reason so no one from that year is on the team for sure. Since our year has some scope hopefully we have some talented people in our batch to complete the needs of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

I'm definitely not trying out because I don't like getting sweaty and sometimes I get aggressive while throwing stuff around that my strength makes the Quaffle momentum off charts that I can basically knockout a person in coma for least 2 years. So we don't want accidents. Plus I'm not really a team working person, I prefer being a solo king.

From our batch only Leo, Lorcan and Lily were trying out. (All three of them have their initial as 'L'. How weird.)

I went to watch the try outs. There were a few 6th year guys trying out to impress girls but they are most likely to embarrass themselves. 5th years and 7th years were not allowed to come for selections due to their O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s.

There was one girl who showed up from 3rd year and those three from my grade.

I could see James totally disgusted with the skills of the 6th year guys. They were like genuinely bad. I mean I can do so way better. It was funny to see Fred and James being serious for once in their life half of the time they are just walking around doing absolutely unnecessary and unwanted things.

The 3rd year girl was pretty average but a better option than the 6th year guys. I must say though there were a lot of spectators rather than people who wanted to go for the tryouts. Most of the 5th-7th year girl gang just came out to check the guys though. They were constantly giggling and trash talking and gossiping about them.

Then it was Leo's turn.

I must say be was pretty average too... I mean he's got pretty good flying skills but agility and catching skills could be improvised.

He missed the Quaffle two times and was probably the best contestant by far.

Next was Lorcan and he was better than Leo of course. Leo was more egoistic and cared more about how he looked in front of people rather than focusing on the game. He had good catches and was pretty much equal to Rose and Heather. I feel disgusted. My state has come to a point that I'm praising my dear brother Lorcan.

Next was Potter. Yes, Lily Luna Potter. I haven't heard from her a long time. It's probably cause she's going through this whole face of boys are disgusting and girl vibe and girl code nonsense but it is not affecting me in any way cause I never cared and I will never.

She was smooth. She was definitely going to get selected. She was genuinely better than Lorcan. She's a Potter after all. 

But the thing is that if James selects her the backlash of 'family partiality' is going to play out. The team was already 3/7th same family dominated but if they join her more than half of the team would be of the same family.

I could see James thinking of the same thing. This whole this was a controversy before also about choosing Rose over Heather. Because Rose joined the team in 2nd year and Heather joined in 3rd year after one of the players left and Heather is claimed to be a better player than Rose so I don't know.

I mean the team's gonna not have much difference if he picks Lily or Lorcan. Both of them are good, Lily is just slightly better due to the genes.

If I went for the trials I would have definitely been selected but they can't risk lives.

Fred said that James will give his decision by the evening.

Well after that nothing really happened since it was a Saturday so some reading and homework. Then it was around 6:00 when James walked towards Lorcan who was trying to study Transfiguration and told "We'll start tomorrow come to practice at 6:00 in the morning". 

Me and my roomies went to Lorcan and congratulated him. Val messed up his hair and Jared screamed like a monkey. Hugo somehow got a who damn party popper and popped it. It was basically a celebration. I wanted to see Potter's disappointed face and I looked around and see was nowhere to be found.

Then I saw her in the couch totally putting off that sassy face of 'You definitely didn't deserve it'. I mean she's not wrong. James just didn't select her or then it would ruin his image. Life is so unfair right?

She was trying so hard not to cry. It made me happy for some reason. I went to her and said "You deserved better" and a small chuckle accidentally came out of me. DUDE I SOUNDED LIKE SOME SADISTIC KID WHO LOVES HIS BROTHER. THIS SOUNDS WRONG TO ME IN EVERY LANGUAGE I KNOW.

"You're like milk. You get sourer, disgusting and less pure as you get older" she said angrily and left.

I felt bad. Not for totally being rude to her but I felt bad cause I sounded like a loser who loves Lorcan. So I have to some how make it up with her and explain.

I tried a lot to talk to her and tell her that I didn't like Lorcan but I could never make words come out of my mouth. 

I have to sort this up. I made it my top priority to solve this problem by the end of 3rd year at least.

Anyways after that our gang had that whole party thrown for Lorcan and we stayed up late playing charades and Monopoly. I had fun and felt connected to people for the first time in my life. Val was the best though. During charades he would do the most vague actions ever but I always guess it right.

And next morning because we stayed up late Lorcan was late for practice. James is probably re-thinking life decisions right now.
