"Morning Eve," as she came downstairs, her eyes searched for a particular person.

"Hasn't Chan woken up yet?"

"I don't know, she should be."

Evelyn was dressed up and sitting on the couch sipping tea as she shrugged.

"What time did she arrive home last night?"

"No idea, I went to bed early."

Tania replied and continued. "This is so strange."

"I am going to check up on her."

Chantal was always on time, especially when it came to her job, so Evelyn scowled and stood up before going upstairs to her room.

"Yeah, we will get late otherwise."

Tania followed her muttering.

~Knock~

~Knock~

"Little Birdie, aren't you awake yet?"

When even after knocking twice on her door, there was no response, Eve asked in a concerned tone but as she knocked once more and discovered the door was unlocked, there was still no response.

The two of them exchanged perplexed glances and entered her room to see her sleeping.

"Little Birdie?"

Evelyn sat down on the bed and caressed her face.

"She is burning."

She spoke looking at Tania.

"Why all of a sudden? Chan was fine yesterday."

Sighing, Eve gently shook her shoulder to wake her up.

"Umm?"

Chantal stirred in her sleep and scrunched up her nose in a cute way.

"Wake up, love"

"Umm, Eve?"

She blinked open her eyes and gasped.

"Oh no! What time is it? Am I late?"

In a hurry, she straightened up and was about to get down when her sister gripped her wrist stopping her.

"You are burning up and will not go today. Take a leave."

"No, it's okay. It's just a mild fever, I am fine."

"You don't look fine, Chan."

Tania's eyes were filled with evident worry.

"Yes, don't be stubborn. You have to take a rest today."

"But Eve—"

"No, buts Chantal"

When Eve showed her the stern eye, she had no option but to imply to her sister.

"Okay"

"Good, I will also be taking a leave today then."

"Even, I was thinking of skipping school today."

"Guys, please, there is no need to do that. I am not a baby. I can take care of myself."

Chantal remarked, rolling her puffy eyes when Eve's attention went to her hair.

"Why does your hair look wet?"

'Oh no'

Chantal gulped to hear that query

"Um, um I...actually," she sneezed, "well I took a shower."
