The day of the long-awaited field trip arrived, and with it, an air of excitement enveloped Summer. The promise of a day filled with adventure and discovery fueled her anticipation. However, the ever-present buzzkill, Ms. Gleason, decided to impose a seating arrangement for both the bus and the theatre, adding a touch of structure to the anticipated outing.

On the bus, Summer found herself next to Kassidy, a friend with a questionable claim to the title of her "best friend." Despite the nominal closeness, their interactions were fleeting, leaving Summer to navigate the journey with a seatmate who remained largely indifferent.

Upon arrival at the theatre, the seating plan shifted to alphabetical order by last names. Due to the placement dictated by her surname, Summer ended up between two boys, Madien and Frace. Determined to enjoy the day, she orchestrated a series of seat swaps, eventually settling between her friends Carsyn and Mobby. Laughter and chatter filled the air as they eagerly anticipated the show, "A Very Electric Christmas."

The performance unfolded with a magical grace, captivating the audience with its amazing actors, intricate plot, and a heartwarming conclusion. However, the experience wasn't without its imperfections. The mischievous antics of some boys from the 4th-grade class created disruptions throughout the show, a reminder of why Summer initially wished for the trip to be exclusive to the 5th graders.

After the enchanting performance, the group ventured to the river, a small park-like area, to share a meal. Despite the minor hiccups, Summer and her classmates relished the opportunity to bond and savor the post-show glow.

As the day drew to a close, Summer reflected on the mixed emotions of the trip. The enchanting theatre experience, the camaraderie with her classmates, and the lively meal at the river created memories that would linger long after the outing. With the taste of this adventure still fresh, Summer couldn't help but look forward to the next big event – the championship football game – with renewed anticipation and a heart filled with excitement.
