As the train continued its journey, carrying them towards an uncertain yet promising future, Draco couldn't help but feel a sense of optimism blossom within him.

Draco's heart swelled with warmth as he materialized in the opulent foyer of the Malfoy Manor, his eyes immediately seeking out Marvolo's familiar form. Without a second thought, he closed the distance between them in a swift stride, his heart pounding with anticipation.

As Marvolo turned to face him, a smile lighting up his features, Draco felt a rush of relief flood through him. Without hesitation, he reached up, cupping Marvolo's face in his hands, and pressed his lips fervently against his, savouring the familiar taste and feel of his mate.

Marvolo returned the kiss with equal fervour, his arms encircling Draco in a tight embrace, pulling him closer as if trying to meld their bodies together. Draco melted into the embrace, his worries and uncertainties melting away in the presence of his beloved mate.

Breaking the kiss, Draco gazed into Marvolo's eyes, a soft smile playing on his lips. "I missed you," he murmured, his voice filled with affection.

Marvolo's smile widened at the words, his eyes sparkling with adoration. "And I missed you, my love," he replied, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down Draco's spine.

Draco leaned in to press another kiss to Marvolo's lips, his heart soaring with happiness at their reunion. As they stood together in the grand foyer of the manor, wrapped in each other's embrace

That night, Marvolo's voice carried through the dimly lit chamber, his tone soft and inviting as he approached Draco, who was seated by the fireplace, lost in thought.

"Draco, my love," Marvolo began, his eyes alight with anticipation, "I wanted to extend an invitation to you. There's a party being hosted tomorrow evening in honor of Ostara, the Spring Solstice. I would be honoured if you would accompany me."

Draco looked up, surprise flickering in his silver-grey eyes. "A party?" he echoed, a hint of uncertainty colouring his voice.

Marvolo nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Yes, a gathering of friends and allies," he explained. "It would mean a great deal to me to have you by my side."

Draco hesitated, his mind racing with thoughts of the Death Eaters who would be in attendance. "Who else will be there?" he asked, his voice tinged with apprehension.

Marvolo's expression softened, his eyes brimming with warmth as he reached out to gently caress Draco's cheek. "My Death Eaters, among others," he replied, his tone reassuring. "But you have nothing to fear, my love. They would not dare to do anything. Besides, I have a surprise for you."

Draco's brow furrowed in uncertainty, but Marvolo's reassuring touch and steadfast gaze began to ease his doubts. "I'm not so sure," he admitted, his voice hesitant.

Marvolo leaned in closer, his breath ghosting over Draco's ear as he whispered, "Trust me, Draco. I promise you'll be safe, and we'll have a wonderful time together."

Draco met Marvolo's gaze, seeing the sincerity shining in his eyes, and felt a surge of warmth flood through him. With a small smile, he nodded. "Alright," he murmured, his heart lightening at the thought of spending the evening with Marvolo by his side. "I'll go with you."
