WALKING TO THE JOCKEY SEEING FRANK GALLAGHER WALK OUT...
"You're coming with me" he says slurring his words grabbing her arm and dragging her, Kodi pushed Frank Gallagher away as he slurred his words and grabbed her arm, dragging her. 'No, I won't,' she protested, 'Fuck off, Frank.' She walked away, hearing Frank mumbling under his breathe. 'Fucking Tosser' under her breath, she couldn't help but laugh.
Deciding that the Jockey might not be the best idea, considering Kev worked there and might refuse to serve her, she noticed a familiar figure walking towards her.
As the figure turned around, she realized it was Malakai McGuire.
He smiled at the sight of Kodi. 'Well, if it isn't the princess of Chatsworth herself?' he smirked, biting his lip. 'I'm surprised Gallagher isn't by your side, making sure you don't stray.'
'He doesn't own me,' Kodi replied, but Malakai's unconvinced expression suggested otherwise. Everyone in Chatsworth knew that Phillip Gallagher had a possessive streak when it came to her. 'Are you sure about that?' Malakai asked.
'Not anymore,' Kodi said quietly. 'He made sure of that.' 'How so?' Malakai inquired, leaning in slightly.
'Karen Jackson,' Kodi replied. Malakai laughed. 'She got to him, huh? It happens to the best of us. I know firsthand how the Karen charm works.' Kodi looked at him in confusion. 'But don't worry,' he continued, 'it won't last long. She'll find someone else, and Lip will be left heartbroken.' Kodi couldn't help but chuckle at his comment.
'So, would it be too soon to ask you out?' Malakai asked jokingly.
'It depends on where this supposed date will take me,' Kodi replied, her voice laced with playful curiosity. 'Ah,' Malakai paused, raising his eyebrows. 'You can decide. Whatever you wish, I do.'
'Such a gentleman,' Kodi said sarcastically, clutching her heart. She walked on, Malakai following behind, lighting a cigarette. 'Or perhaps,' he said, smirking at her, 'we could skip the whole date?'
'And you were doing so well,' Kodi replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Malakai laughed. 'But sure, why not? What's the worst that could happen?' she said...
Kodi Ball stood on the corner of the street, her heart racing as Malakai's words echoed in her mind... his eyes twinkling mischievously. She turned to face him, a challenging expression on her face as she leaned in closer. "And do what exactly?" she shot back, her voice filled with playful defiance. Without hesitation, Malakai closed the distance between them and pressed his lips against hers.
Kodi's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly melted into the kiss, losing herself in the moment. When he finally pulled away, a smug smile played on his lips. "Walk me home," she said, her voice laced with a mix of excitement and uncertainty as she intertwined her fingers with his. As they strolled hand in hand down the streets of Chatsworth, whispers followed in their wake. Everyone noticed that Kodi was no longer with Lip Gallagher, the troublemaker of the neighborhood. Fear simmered beneath the surface, wondering what Lip would do if he found out about Kodi and Malakai.
They reached Kodi's street, bathed in the soft glow of streetlights. Malakai paused, leaning in ever so slightly. "I guess this is where I leave you," he said, his tone hinting at something more. Kodi's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at him, a playful grin tugging at her lips. "Or you could come up and not have that date?" she suggested, a mischievous glint in her eye.
Malakai's smirk widened, and without another word, he followed her into her house...
Unbeknownst to them, a pair of eyes watched from the window of the neighboring house.
