Author's Note: This was a request from a Wattpad user in 2023 (I apologize that it took me so long to finish this, and I also apologize for forgetting and not writing down the username of the person who requested this. So if you are reading this, I hope you enjoy it.
The cafeteria was livelier than usual.
[Y/N] looked around, spotting her classmates crowded in a circle around one table. Curiously raising her eyebrows, she quickly approached the group.
"What's up?" she asked, gently pushing her way past Kaminari and Sero, only to blink at what she saw.
On the table sat a light grey Flemish Giant rabbit. Its thick, glossy fur looked incredibly soft, and [Y/N] couldn't resist gently stroking it from head to tail.
"Adorable!" she exclaimed, excitement slipping freely into her voice.
"It's Koda," Sero said casually.
Her hand froze.
"Our Koda? But...how?" she asked, still petting the rabbit but now staring at him in disbelief.
"Hatsume's failed invention," Denki blurted, earning a glare from the pink-haired inventor.
"It's a brilliant invention!" Hatsume snapped, her yellow-green eyes sparking defensively.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Kaminari muttered, waving his hand dismissively.
"What now?" Momo asked, looking a little tense.
"Based on my calculations, the side effects should last around a week," Hatsume said thoughtfully.
"Okay, but someone needs to take care of him during that week," Ochako chimed in.
"I say you do it," Bakugou growled at Hatsume, glaring intensely.
"Huh? Why me?!" she crossed her arms in protest.
"The hell you mean? You caused this mess!" Bakugou barked, practically foaming at the mouth.
"No, no, no," Hatsume shook her head violently. "He's your classmate. You do it."
"I agree with Bakugou," Aizawa's calm voice cut through the argument like a knife.
Everyone froze.
Bakugou clicked his tongue and turned away, but [Y/N] caught the ghost of a smile on his face.
"Absolutely not!" Hatsume fumed, clearly cornered.
Suddenly, the cafeteria erupted in debate. The argument over who should care for Koda drew more and more attention. The rabbit looked increasingly distressed, ears pinned back, eyes darting nervously as if searching for a way out.
[Y/N]'s heart clenched.
"Um, guys," she said, stepping forward. "I'll do it. I'll take care of him for the week."
"Are you sure?" Ochako asked, her expression soft.
[Y/N] nodded and smiled. Her fingers gently traced Koda's soft ears. "Yes. I've had a bunny before."
"This is different!" Bakugou snapped.
"I'm sure [Y/N] knows what she's talking about," Kirishima said supportively.
"Bakugou is right!" Iida added, stepping forward with dramatic concern. "This is a big responsibility! He's not just a pet!"
Mina squinted. "Something's weird," she mouthed to Jirou.
