"One peach cobbler," Damon said to the waitress at the Grill, he frowned when he saw that the waitress had a bandage around her throat. Several other staff had bandages in their wrists or throats. Holly. Now Damon knew where she was getting her lunch. "Where is Holly?" Damon asked.

"Over there." The girl pointed to the back where Holly was taking orders.

"Thank you." Damon pulled Holly away out of hearing ears.

"Hey, I was taking orders!" Holly snapped.

"Who do you think you're fooling?" Damon asked as he looked around. "If you're going to feed, you might try to be a little less obvious about it."

"I can't help it." She said back. "I was starving, controlling your blood urge is not that easy. Besides I only took a little sip."

Damon snapped. "Yes on everyone except the bus boy and only because he's Matt." He said. "I think you need to quit your job, being around these . . . human veins is too much temptation."

Holly crossed her arms over her chest. "Even if I quit, what am I supposed to do for the rest of my life? Avoid human contact?"

"That would be an excellent idea." He nodded his thanks as the waitress delivered the peach cobbler. "Or you can spend the afternoon with me at Jenna's barbecue."

"Jenna hates you."

"Thanks for not sugar coating it." Damon said sarcastically. "The point is that Mason is going to be there and I'm going to stab some silver in him and prove that he is a werewolf."

"That should thrill Jenna."

"Well, Jenna seems happy that Damon has just arrived." Holly looked over shoulder and saw that Damon had interrupted their cheering and that Jenna had a scowl on her face.

Caroline smiled through her drink, but she seemed nervous, Holly wondered why. "Was that Stefan?" Caroline asked Elena who had just hung up the phone.

Elena nodded. "He hasn't been returning any of my calls." She saw the way that Caroline was stuffing chips in her mouth. "Wow, someone is hungry."

"Yes, I cannot stop eating." Caroline said. "It helps with cravings, it's just a constant temptation to drink blood, that's why I had to break up with Matt he was a constant temptation, just like you are with Stefan."

Holly gaped. That was weird.

Elena looked hurt. "He said that?"

"The desire to rip your throat out believe me it's there." Caroline put down the bowl of chips. "Right Holly?"

Holly shook her head. "Leave me out of this, I'm the single one in the group so I have nothing to add."

Alaric poked his head outside. "Food's ready."

"Great." Caroline said. "I'm starving."

"Dress! Ballerina!" Jenna hollered at Damon. They were in the living room playing Pictionary and Damon was drawing.

"Puppy with a tutu!" Caroline tried.

"Hawaiian dog!" Holly tried.

"Dances with wolves." Mason said easily.

Damon smirked. "Mason wins again."

Jenna rolled her eyes. "How is that a wolf?" Damon motioned for Holly to follow him into the kitchen.

"Aunt Jenna is getting tipsy." Damon sing song as he followed Holly into the kitchen.

Holly started washing the dishes. "You getting her drunk so that she'll like you it's not helping."

"Oh, please she loves me."

"How is operation Lockwood?" Holly rolled her eyes. "I don't think painting pictures is what you had in mind."

Damon eyed the silver wear. "Is that real silver?"

She nodded as she took a knife. "I think so, why?" Damon simply smirked.

Damon put down the pie and turned it around so that the silver knife faced Mason. Holly fought the urge to roll her eyes, could Damon be less obvious. "Mason, why don't you start us off?"

"Sure." He took a piece of pie when his hand and saw Holly staring at him. "Sorry, I'm a slob."

"So Mason, you and Jenna never dated?" Alaric asked.

"Nope. She was always lost in Logan Fell land."

"One of my first mistakes."

"Really?" Damon cocked an eyebrow. "I always thought you were a lone wolf."

Mason's smile faded. "Well, I can bet that I wasn't half the lady killer you were."

"Hey, I'm going to go check on Stefan, Caroline offered me a ride." Elena whispered. "Are you sure that you're going to be ok?"

"Yeah." Holly nodded. "I'll be fine."

"No more takers for drinks at the Grill?" Mason wiggled his eyebrows. "I feel like I'm with a bunch of adults."

"Trying to be responsible." Jenna winked at Holly.

"Well, then thank you for a lovely evening." Mason said as he closed the door.

"I should probably get going too." Damon said after a while. "Jenna, you've been a lovely hostess, Ric see you."

Holly walked Damon toward the door. "Damon, wait you're not seriously going to challenge Mason are you. He can kill you!"

"Aw, you're worried about me?"

"Well, you've tortured me enough I kind of want to finish things off right," she said. "Just be careful all right?"

Damon squeezed her hand. "Believe me I can handle Mason."

"Well, silver didn't work and Damon is now Mason's enemy. Hey are you ok?" Holly asked as she entered Elena's room. "You've been quiet. Is something wrong?"

Elena nodded. She thought it would be best if Holly didn't know about her "break up" with Stefan. The least people that knew the better. "Um, not good. Stefan and I broke up."

"Oh." She said in a small voice. "Why?"

"Katherine. It's what Katherine wanted."
