I woke up the next morning to the sun shining in my face. I groaned and rolled over in my bed. I opened my eyes slightly to see Jin lying beside me. I immediately jumped up.
I shot up quickly from my startling dream. My eyes shot around my room quickly. I was alone except for Farouk. I sighed and relaxed back into my bed.
I looked to my clock to see there was something blocking my line of view. It was a card and scribbled on the front in Jin's handwriting was my name.
He was here last night? What kind of boundaries does he think he can cross?! First kissing me and now coming into my suite while I'm sleeping?!
I snatched the note from my stand frustratedly.
Prane,
I would've sent my bird but his wing is injured. You were asleep by the time I came back and I didn't want to wake you. I had to make sure I put the note somewhere you'd see it so I let myself in. I apologize if I frightened you.
Meet me tonight in Insadong at the first restaurant we dined at. 6:00 p.m. I'll be in the back.
P.S.
You look very relaxed when you sleep. It looks good on you. You should learn to relax more.I placed the note aside and looked up to my clock. It was already noon.
I looked to Farouk who was sprawled across the bay window seat asleep beneath the sun.
I need coffee.
...
I walked into the restaurant and made my way to the back. The restaurant seemed very busy today. It was a Sunday so it was expected.
Jin sat with his back to me as I walked up to him.
"Good evening," he spoke as I came to the table and sat across from him.
"Good evening," I spoke back looking at him.
He wore a plain pink t-shirt tonight with a pair of clean dark jeans. His hair was brushed up out of his face, making him look slightly older. His eyes glimmered beneath the dim lights above us. I felt the hair on my neck stand up just looking at him.
"I ordered us tea already. It should be out shortly."
"Thank you," I spoke as I made myself comfortable.
I just wanted this night to go quickly and be done and over with. I wanted my clue and I wanted to get out of here. Being around him now made me feel nervous that he was going to try something again or even bring up the thought again. Being here reminded me of what he did.
I looked down into my menu. There was an awkward silence between us for a moment before Jin smiled, looking down into his lap.
"What's the smile for?" I asked.
"Nothing," he spoke as he looked up with serene happiness across his face.
"What is it?"
"It's you."
I frowned at him. Don't start with this crap already. "What about me?"
"You just look so nervous. Relax yourself a little. You never relax. There's no need to be so anxious around me," he explained.
Well that was an understatement. "Look who's talking."
"What? I'm relaxed. I'm completely comfortable."
