SHMONEY

Cesaria ran towards the door when the bell rang. Zayn was standing behind it, a small smile on his face before he entered.

"Hey," she greeted, kissing him before reaching to close the door, "I'm almost done, okay?"

"Okay," he sat on the couch while Sari went back to her room and put her hair in a sleek ponytail. Her navy blue dress was below the knee but fitted and long sleeved. She stepped into black heels and switched from her regular brown purse to a smaller black one.

"Oh, shit," she reached in her makeup bag and got out a small tube of lipstick, "boom, baby."

Zayn walked in and leaned against the door. "You're nervous, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I mean, they're your parents, Zayn," she put the lipstick in her purse and cut the top light off. They both left the house and Zayn opened the passenger door of his car for her, "thanks." She waited until he got in to continue talking. "I'm not good with parents, is all."

"Why?"

"'Cause it's just a lot of pressure and I fuck up all the time."

"I know what this is about," Zayn frowned, driving down the street and away from the neighborhood, "my parents can be judge mental, I know that part, but honestly, Bear. You're just fine as you are and if they don't like it, they can go tell it to someone who cares."

"Zayn--"

"What?"

"I hate you," she giggled, "stop reading my mind."

"Only because we know each other so well, huh?" He held her hand on the console and just smiled, "don't worry, I got ya back anyway. 'Cause we're a team."

Sari just blushed, leaning her head back and looking at the road in front of them.

Although, Zayn's little sappy speech made her feel a little better, she still wasn't sure. She wasn't as nervous with other guys' parents as she was with his. This was Zayn. Zayn, man. And she most definitely wanted to feel like her best and try to give off a good impression to his family.

It totally sucked that she had these doubts, but of course she had to think this way.

"What are you thinking?" Zayn spoke up, resting their hands in his lap and caressing them both with his other hand. The car slowed down to a full stop at a light.

"Nothing, actually," and that was a damn lie, but he bought it anyway, "just...what place are we going to and why did it have to be fancy?"

"My mom likes to eat at certain places because sometimes she just wants to see how people really act, I guess," he rolled his eyes and pressed on the gas, "I don't know, man. She explained it to me one time and I just zoned out."

"Whatever," and yeah, she was still nervous but whatever, still, she knew who she was at the end of the day and she wasn't going to change either.

"We're here."

"Fucking Gardillo's?" She read the sign and groaned, "we literally just ate here last week."

"It's her favorite," Zayn shrugged, "c'mon, Bear."

They both got out the car and Sari held the door open for him.

"I wanted to do that," Zayn made a face at her and she just grinned wider.

"Hurry up, there's people coming and I refuse to hold the door."

Zayn rolled his eyes yet again and walked up to the hostess. "Hi, there's already two people here for us, possibly under the name Malik."
