Maybe I am sick?
Maybe it was because I was eating Ice Cream at two in the morning?
my rocky road flavored tongue getting lost at the dead end.
coated with icy sleet, slick and dangerous to travel upon.
Maybe I caught the chills when I started to sprinkle out snowflakes from my stomach?
The Hot water was turned off,
so when I washed the sticky left over sugar from my hands,
the marshmallow ice numbed my fingertips.
froze it down to the bones.
Your memory woke me up at midnight.
Maybe that gave me the chills?
Putting my heart in the freezer,
with numb fingertips next to a half eaten carton of rocky roads.
