Lily POV
We've been back at Hogwarts for a while now and although Iv been quite stressed with our NEWT examinations coming up the rest of my time has been pretty normal, nothing out of the ordinary or dramatic happening. Just a peace full few weeks.
It's my 17th birthday tomorrow when I will officially be an adult in the wizarding world.
No ones really spoke about it and if I'm perfectly honest I don't want anything big maybe just a nice day with my friends.
Between class, heads duties, patrols and revision iv hardly even had time to think about it.
It's Friday today and I'm glad my birthday is on a weekend so that I can truly relax.
It's a full moon tonight but James said he'll try and get back as early as he can in the morning although I'm not expecting him to rush, Remus is far more important.
"Lil I'm going now" James calls, I look up from my book towards the portrait whole to see him standing ready to leave with his invisibility cloak in hand.
"Coming"
I place my book down and walk over to him, pulling him into a tight hug once I'm in reach. "Be careful" I mumble into his chest
I feel him kiss my on the top of my head before he pulls away.
"Always am" he smiles as he goes to leave.
"I love you" he shouts just before the portrait slams shut.
"I love you to" I reply but I don't think he heard me.
Once I'd finished my essay for Defence Against
the Dark Arts I went up to my room and got ready for bed.
As I laid my head down on my pillow I thought of how much I hated sleeping away from James now, it's amazing how safe he makes me feel and what I difference it makes when he's not here. I hope he's okay.
