You walk into the coffee shop as it opens and slap the money on the counter. "The blackest of black coffees."

The man behind the counter chuckles and takes the money. "What are you trying to study for?"

"Why did I become a psychology major?"

He laughs even more and hands you the fresh coffee. "Good luck!"

You smile slightly as you walk out, drinking the bitter coffee. You finish it all before you get back to your dorm and get back to studying.

~~~
Your teacher gave the tests back to you in a week. Now, you were never the best student, but you did everything you could, which normally earned you a "C". You look at the grade in shock. A 97? You got a 97? You run back to the coffee shop and slam the paper down on the counter. The same man comes over and smiles. "How can I help you?"
"I got an 'A'!" you shriek.
He laughs slightly. "Congrats."
"You have magical coffee."
He laughs even more. "How do you know it was the coffee?"
You shake your head. "I'm not nearly that smart. I'm convinced that it was the coffee, and it will now be part of my diet before every test."
"Psychology major?"
You sigh, realizing the irony. "Well, I uh, yeah. Okay. You got me there."
He smiles. "I'm not complaining. I'm selling more coffee. It'd be great if you could tell your friends."
~~~

You come back almost every day from that point on. Maybe the "A" was because you studied so much. Your grades went back to normal, but you didn't care. You got to see the same man, whose name you learned was John. Both of you made small talk every day, but you both were too nervous to ask for more than that.

John got an idea one day to write his number on your cup. Sure, it was cliche, but he didn't care. He just wanted to spend time with you.

"Here ya go." He handed her the cup with his number facing her.

You smirk, gaining courage. "You wrote your number on my cup? You know, I would have said 'yes' any way you asked me out."

He blushes. "Really?"

"I like movies. Tomorrow?"

"Uh yeah, sounds great."

(A/N: Hey! Hope you liked it! Love you! Stay strong!)
