Thirty One - Burnt.

I walked along the corridor with Judith balanced on my hip and sophie at my side.

'have you seen carol recently?' I asked

'no actually I haven't ,she was supposed to be on kitchen duty yesterday and didn't show up so me and ,Michael too over.' she shrugged

'who's Michael?' I asked and nudged her, whilst raising a eyebrow

'oh, shut up.' she laughed

'is he your boyfriend?' I asked her

'no...maybe...okay,yes.' she smiles uncontrollably

'I'm so happy for you!' I squealed, before bumping into someone

'oh sor-oh hey Luke, you seen Carol anywhere?' I asked

'didn't you hear?' he questioned, and stole a stale dorito from the packet Sophie was holding.

'hear what?' Sophie asked

'rick kicked her out.' he stated bluntly

'he what!' I shouted

'he kicked her out.'

I handed Judith to Luke and stormed off down the corridor to where the council meeting was being held.

'Rick!' I shouted and shoved the door open

everyone was sat around a long table, except Rick who was stood pointing at a map on the table, but I didn't partially care at that moment. I walked straight up to him and started screaming.

'where the fuck is she?' I shouted

'you don't understand I had to!' he shouted back

'I don't understand? I don't understand? no, I don't think you understand!'

'I honestly had to!'

'why, why did you have to rick? is it because your ego was so big that you couldn-' I started

'IT'S BECAUSE SHE KILLED KAREN AND DAVID!' he screamed

'she...she what?' I said releasing my grip on my gun

'she burnt them, so the disease couldn't spread...'

'rick...I'm...I'm so sorry...' I murmured

'its okay.' he smiled

I quickly ran up and hugged him.

'I'm sorry ,I shouldn't have lashed out.' I muttered

'it's my fault, I should have told you' he hugged back

I released from the hug, I felt so bad.
