Quinn POV

It's the following week, and today is the day before Christmas Eve.

I haven't hung out with Harry in a few days, which makes me sad, but I understand why he needed to work more the past few days.

My parents are flying in tomorrow morning as well as my sister, to make it home by tomorrow night. All of my family is coming over for dinner. So the house is going to be filled with my cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.

I stand up from my couch once I hear my door bell go off. I slide my feet across the glossy floor that is waxed, causing myself to giggle. I pull the door open and land my eyes on my grandmother.

"Oh look who it is." She says with a wide grin.

"Hi Grandma." I say while hugging her. She hugs me back instantly and kisses my cheek.

"How are you doing darling?" My Mom's, Mother asks me.

"Uh, good I assume," I say with a smile. I let her come inside the house since it's cold outside. "Where are your bags?" I ask

"In the car. I'll grab them later." She says while brushing it off. I nod and close the front door. I take her winter coat and hang it up in the closet for her.

"Can I get you anything to eat or drink? How was the drive?" I ask.

"I'm good thank you darling. And the drive was boring as hell," She tells me with a head shake. "What about you? Do you need something to eat? You look a little on the skinnier side compared to when I last saw you in November."

"I had lunch an hour ago." I tell my Grandmother who nods.

"You're not--you know. Are you?" She asks while holding my hands and looking into my eyes.

"No, I'm not." I answer with a weak grin.

"Just making sure. You know I told your Mom she should stay home more until you graduate college." My Grandma tells me.

"Her work is her life." I answer through a hum and a slight rolled eye.

"Yeah well, so are her kids. Your Father should be home more too." She tells me with a sigh.

"Have you told him that?" I ask with a snicker.

"I have, and all he did was pay me off like that would work." I chuckle at my Father's actions.

"Sorry about him." I tell my Grandma who shrugs her shoulders.

"I should say that to you. He wasn't always a douche," I smile by her words. "Anyways, what has been new with you? Are you still dating that boy? I forget his name, I'm sorry."

"Harry is his name. And yes, I am." I tell her. She nods with a grin.

"Is he a good boy? You told me Richard wasn't the nicest to you." My Grandma brings up.

"He's a good guy." I assure her.

"I'd love to meet him sometime. Does he live close?" She asks, which makes my cheeks heat.

"He's uh," I pause, clearing my throat. "He's the neighbor next door."

My grandmother stays silent for a few moments and stares at me with a blank face. "Oh my goodness. And you have the house all to yourself!" She exclaims with wide eyes. "This isn't good Quinn. Your parents allow this? Please tell me you have condoms in your drawer."

"Grandma." I say with wide eyes.

"What? You don't think I know what teenagers do now. Do you need money for condoms?"

"No, I'm good. We're not, you know." I travel off with heated cheeks.

"Good girl. See, this is why you're my favorite granddaughter. The rest have done it by fifteen," Her head shakes with a sigh. "Since he lives close, you should invite him over for dinner tonight. I'll make something for the three of us." A grin goes on her pink lips.

"I'll ask him. He might be working though." I tell her.

"Go ask him. I'll see what food you have in the fridge." She says with an excited look.

My Grandma walks away and I take my phone that is my jean pocket out. I click Harry and I's conversation and type.

Me: you busy tonight?

Harry: uhhhhh

Harry: i have work until 4:30

Me: wanna have dinner with me and my grandma????? she wants to meet you

Harry: which grandmother is it?

Me: the nice one

Me: does it matter Harold?

Harry: no lmao i was curious

Harry: and yeah, i'd love too

Me: can you come over at 6?

Harry: yes

Harry: what should i wear? I own nothing nice

Me: jeans and a nice shirt is okay. she isn't like my other family who cares what someone wears

Harry: okay

Harry: i'll see you at six

Me: :)

I place my phone back in my pocket and head to the kitchen. "He can come over. I told him six." I inform my grandmother.

"Great!" She says with a smile and crinkled eyes. "I need to run to the store to pick up food. You have no food in the house Quinny. No wonder why you're so skinny looking!" She says while closing the fridge door.

"Would you like me to go with you?" I ask her.

"No, you stay home and relax. I got everything figured out. Is he allergic to anything?"

"Nope." I answer her question. My Grandma nods and grabs her purse.

"I'm also going to buy you some snacks and make you premade dinners so when I leave, you don't starve. Jesus you have no food!" She repeats with a shaking head.

"You don't have to do that." I tell her with a tilted head.

"Yes I do. You must be starving all the time Quinny. I'll be back in an hour." My Grandmother kisses my cheek before leaving my house.

Once I hear the door close I head upstairs to pick up something to wear for tonight. I think tonight's dinner will go well.

I try to push the lingering thought that I've yet to tell my parents about Harry, out of my mind. Whenever I see them, they're always angry looking and I don't want to make them even more mad by telling them whom I'm dating.

I shake my head to myself and walk into my closet. While Harry is here tonight, I can give him his Christmas gift as well. I'm excited about that. I didn't bother to get Joy anything this year since I haven't spoken alone or out of school in a few weeks.
