"...fade to black!" -Hang 'Em High by My Chemical Romance
I find it interesting that we relate the ending of things by fading to black. The endings of movies, TV shows, and video clips on YouTube. Why is that?
Death is another one. In books when someone dies it's often "everything fades to black....".
Black can represent: Death, grief, mystery, end of a cycle, authority, as well as power.
Black is what we use (sometimes) to describe night. Darkness is the absence of light....
Peeling off the mask I become who I am in darkness. No one can see me and that (occasionally) is a good thing.
Who do you become is the absence of light?
