(Glinda's POV)

My evening had been rather boring until I met this mysterious guest, and to be honest I really enjoy his company. He was a wonderful dancer, and he didn't mind if I rambled a bit while we danced. I don't know what, but being with him, dancing with him, feels so, so right! Don't get me wrong, I love my Elphie, but there is something about him I like as well. These thoughts run through my mind as we leave Boq and Millie and return to dancing.

As we dance we slowly make our way towards the door leading to the gardens, and I can feel him slowly maneuvering us toward it. “ Would you like to walk the gardens?” I ask him and he nods, and we soon find ourselves outside.

The evening is perfect. The air though chilly isn't uncomfortable. The stars and moon shine brightly, and I can't help smile as we walk along the garden paths to the sound of music in the distance. We link arms. “So, my dear sir, I hope you have been having as pleasant a time as I have.” I say, and it's as if I can suddenly tell he's smiling.  “I wasn't sure I would enjoy the evening's festivities. Well, I had been hoping that someone very special would attend, but they didn't.”

As I grow quiet we continue on the path, and I am lost in my own little world of thoughts. We pass various couples who have wandered out into the gardens, and eventually get to where the music is heard no more and there are no other people around. I look around after we stop walking and I realize we are in my garden. “This is my garden!” I say looking around wide eyed at the beautiful lights that have been hung around that giving off a romantic glow across things and even with the flowers dying it still looked beautiful. As I slowly turn around taking everything in. “It's all so beautiful, but don't understand.” I says looking at him questioningly. “How do you know about my garden?”

I am completely floored when suddenly I realize he is down on one knee, and holding a box out that contains one of the most beautiful rings I ever seen and I gasp staring at it wide eyed a moment before looking at the person who is kneeling before me with it.

(Mysterious Guest)

I see the look of shock and surprise as she looks at the ring and then me. I knew I had to do something, and so I cleared my throat, and decided it was time to say something.

“Lady Glinda, since the day I first laid eyes on you I have had feelings for you, but I was not worthy enough for you. I did everything I could to just get you to notice me, and though you did you still rejected me.”

She watched me silently confused as what I meant or who I am, and I smile behind the mask, because she is trying to remember. I know this because I can see it written in her beautiful blue eyes. After a moment of gazing into them I shake my head and continue.

“Your Goodness, since the day we shared out first kiss you have occupied my every thought morning, noon, and night since the day we met. Your eyes are as beautiful as sapphires that sparkle in the sunlight. When you laugh it's as if everything wrong in the world is made right, but those are not the only reasons I long for you.” I tell her. “For in time you became a just and kind leader. You treated all as equal, and loved all no matter what they looked like, where they were from or what they look like. To you they were all equals, and that's makes this one hundred times better.”

“I beg your pardon, and hope I don't sound rude, but we have never shared a kiss, my dear sir. In fact, up until tonight I have never laid eyes on you before.” She objects, and again all I can do is smile for moment before I remove my hat and mask. She gasp in shock. “I-it's.... it's you!”

I take her hand in mine as she begins to cry. “Galinda Arduenna Upland, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

She stares still in shock and disbelief at first the ring, and then at me again. It is several nerve wracking moment before she before she is finally able to respond. “Yes! A thousand times yes!” She says, and remove the ring from the box and slide it on her delicate finger. With that she almost tackles me as she hugs me. “I love you my big mean, green thing!” She mumbles through tears, and I smile feeling, no knowing I am the happiest woman alive right now. “I love you too, my sweet.” Our lips meet and it is as if everything is finally perfect!
