Elphaba's POV)

Dear Diary,

So much had happened since last I wrote in you, and most of it still feels like a dream. I am not even really sure where to start.

I look up and smile as I stare into the other room to where Glinda and her mother are chatting. After a moment I return to my writing.

I suppose I should start by saying that I did something I never thought I would ever do. I attended a party willingly, and a masquerade at that! Now I know you must wonder what in Oz is wrong with me, and my honest answer is nothing, unless you count being in love something wrong with me.

Anyways, back to what I was saying. After we got to garden got down and proposed to her! After a few moments if her getting over the shock of finding out I had been dancing with her, and the question to marry take her hand in marriage sunk in, she said yes! I am honestly surprised that all of Oz doesn't know by now that I am alive and now going to marry Glinda, my Glinda.

I can't help but grin at that. Glinda is mine, and will be mine forever soon.

If anyone would have told me back when we first met at Shiz that Glinda and I will be married I would have laughed and said they were crazy. We have come so far since that time, and despite everything we have been through there isn't much I would change. Alright, so that isn't entirely true. There is much I would change, but never anything that transpired with between Glinda and I.

Just then I hear Glinda and Lerena start to laugh, and look up again. I watch as they begin to rise and decide I had better wrap up my journal entry as the turn towards me.

I am afraid I must wrap this up as my beautiful fiancee, I love the sound of that, and her mother are heading in my direction.

Closing my journal I stand and meet Glinda. “Hello beautiful.” I say and kiss her. She grins and kisses back for a moment before her mother lclears her this. We break apart and blush and look apologetically at her. “I'm sorry Lerena.”

“It's okay dear.” She smiles. “You two are fine, but I just wanted to make sure you two love birds didn't get carried away.”

I blush even more, and Glinda scoffs, “Really Momsie!” She says tossing her hair. “We are not that bad! We are quite able to control ourselves!” Her mother gives her a pointed look, and I am desperately trying to think of someway to change the conversation. “What we can control ourselves!” She argues again.

“Mhmm.” Her mother says shaking her head when Bessie suddenly pipes up from the doorway where she had apparently entered hearing part of the conversation. “You two can control yourselves about as well as a two jackrabbits in heat!”

Lerena laughs at this, Glinda gives them both a fake glare before laughing herself, and I bolt out that room faster that if someone were chasing me with a bucket of water!

(Glinda's POV)

I watch Elphie rush from the room and suddenly feel very guilty at laughing along with Momsie and Bessie. I should have realized how sensitive she is about that sort of thing. “Momsie. Bessie. If you will excuse me I need to go make sure Elphie is okay.”

They had both stopped laughing when she had left the room, and Momsie nods. “Let her know we are sorry. We shouldn't have teased like that.”

“I'm sorry as well Lady Glinda. I was way out if line.” Bessie says looks sorry

“I  will let her know.” I tell them as I leave the room.

Now the problem was where had Elphie gotten to? Even though she left only moments ago I knew she can move rather quickly when she wanted to. I knew she would not go to her room or mine. Nor would she go to the garden or the library. She's smart enough to know I would look most likely look for here at those places first, and so I begin to just wander around the house.

After awhile it dawns on me, and I know where she went. Changing my course slightly I rush down the hallway and find the old servants stairs that lead to the attic, and it so happens Chistery usually stays up there. More likely that not she went to see him. At least I hope she had.

“Elphie?” I call as I open the attic door. No answer. “Elphie?” I call again, and again silence greets me.

My eyes adjust after a moment to the dim light and I see a figure perched on the rafters watching me. “Chistery? Is that you?” I ask tentatively, and the figure unfurrows his wings and drops gently to the floor before coming over to me. I sigh with relief to see it is Chistery.

“Mistress, wants to be alone.” He says stopping a few feet from me.

“I know, Chistery, but I-”

“Mistress said to make sure everyone, even you Miss Glinda, stays away from her.” He says cutting me off firmly.  I sigh and realize I can't get him to go against what Elphie had told him to do.

Glancing around I just spot a figure huddle in a darkened corner, and I know instantly that it's Elphie. I look back at Chistery and nod. “Very well, but could I at leave a message for her?”

“I suppose you can.”

“Alright.” I am silent for a second then begin. “Would you tell Elphie that I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was joking around with Mother and Bessie about our love life. I should have been more concerned with how it would make her feel, and stopped them from going on about it.” I catch a small movement out of the corner of my eye. “I didn't mean to hurt her. Tell her I love her more than anything, and that I really am sorry.”

“Is that everything, Lady Glinda?” Chistery asks, and nod. “I will tell her. Now please leave.” He says not unkindly.

“Thank you, Chistery.” I give him a small smile before I turn and begin to make my way down the attic stairs.

“Glinda! Wait!” I stop and turn when I hear my name, and I am thrilled to see Elphie standing there. “I heard everything, and I just wanted to say I… I forgive you.” She says quietly giving me a small small.

“Oh Elphie!” I say bursting into a grin as I race across the room and throw my arms around her. “Thank you!”

She smiles a little. “I'm sorry as well. I overreacted. It just that the whole conversation threw me off.”

“It's okay, Elphie.” I kiss her cheek. “As I said before I never should have encouraged them. You always were more sensitive than you let on. Now are you planning to stay hidden up here all day or are you going to spend time with me?”

“Well, it is kind of cozy up here. I mean I love the whole gloomy feel it has.”

“Elphie!” I say whining loudly, and she laughs at me. “I'm kidding, my sweet.” She says to me cackling quietly. “I'll join you. After all if I leave the wedding ideas to you and your mother I'll be drowning in pink, glitter and Oz knows what else!”

I scowl at her with a pout as well. “You're a big, mean, green thing you know.” I say turning and starting downstairs. I hear here quickly follow.

She takes my hand and chuckles. “So I have been told.”
