Anderson Sr.

"How's it going Andy?" Steve says. "I'm doing ok. Just worried about my boy." I respond. "How are you and Jess doing?" "She's a mess. Every time she goes by her room she breaks down crying."

"How do you think got it worst? Junior or Jess?" He asks. "I don't know. It might be Junior. I mean, he was in love with the girl. But Jess just lost her daughter. Her only child. The maid of honor at your wedding." I say.

Just then Jess comes back with tears on her face. "What's wrong honey?" Steve says hugging her. "Brielle!" "What about her? Does Andy need to come down here?" I ask. "Yes. He definitely needs to hear this."

"Junior!?" No answer. "Junior!" "Maybe he's in the bathroom." Jess says. I get worried and run up stairs, Jess and Steve behind me. I knock on his door. Still, no answer.

"It's locked." We all look at each other and think the worst. I bang on the door. "Anderson!" I burst open the door to find Junior on the floor with a knife and a dog in his hand.

"Oh my god!" I grab the knife from him. "Thank god he didn't cut his self." Steve says. Jess is a crying mess. She gets on the floor and takes Junior in her arms and rocks him.

"That call was from Nurse Holyfield. She said that.....Brielle is n-not dead."

I look up at Ms. Matthews. Did she just say Brielle's not dead? "What? No. That can't be possible. I was in the room when she flatlined. When she died."

"I know sweetie. Which it's why I was confused too." She says. "Apparently Brielle has been fine. Her heart failed and that's why she flatlined. After we all left they brought her back."

I look at her and my dad in disbelief. "You mean, she's not dead? She's alive?" She nods. "And she's been wondering why no one has come to see her." "But we didn't even know." My dad says.

"Exactly. Apparently Nurse Holyfield called the school thinking I was there and someone answered the phone pretending to be me." She said.

"When she called just now she thought we already knew and just wanted to tell us that she's recovering very well." "But wait," Mr. Russo says. "Who would pretend to be you and not tell you that Brielle's not dead?"

"I don't know. But I will find out."

I can't believe my ears. Brielle's not dead. She's alive. And well. I can't believe it. My baby's alive.
