Brielle

"Shh. Don't cry baby boy." Tiffani says bouncing Kolton up and down. She sits down and lifts up her shirt. I stare like a toddler in a candy store.

"Does that hurt?" I ask watching her breastfeed Kolton. "Kinda. But my doctor says it's normal. She said it's because the latch isn't right." I nod understandingly.

"Did the birth hurt?" "Hell yeah." She laughs. I laugh too. "My doctor told me that girls my age and the first timers usually have longer labor. And it hurts way more." "Oh." I say.

"Wait, So.. what about your mom?" I ask. She looks at me. "What do you mean?" "This whole time I haven't heard you say anything about your mom. Just your doctor." Tiffani looks down at Kolton and I can see she's tearing up.

My eyes grow wide and I touch her shoulder. "Oh my god Tiffani, I am so sorry. I-I didn't know. I'm so—," "Brielle, my mom didn't die." I start to calm down.

"She just doesn't like Nell or his family or the fact that I got pregnant at 16." "Ohh. Well, still, I'm sorry." "Not only that, but they kicked me out when I told them I was pregnant."

"Oh wow. That's terrible." She starts crying and I take Kolton and put him in the seat. "Tiffani, I had no idea. I'm so sorry." "It's ok Brielle." She sniffles.

"Wait. If your parents kicked you out, then do you guys live with Darnell's parents." She shakes her head. "Darnell told them that he would have his own place by the time Kolton gets here but," she trails off.

Then I get an amazing idea. Right at that time, Andy and Darnell come back in. I look at Andy with wide eyes. He looks at me with wide eyes too. Maybe he's thinking what I'm thinking?

He motions outside and I tell Tiffani and Darnell we'll be back.

We get outside the door and Andy talks first. "I have an idea I want to run by you." "I do too?" I say excitedly. "What is yours about?" He asks. "Darnell and Tiffani. You?" "Same. Ok, on three, we say it together." He counts down.
