Y'ALL I just want to give a quick shoutout to @nchui123 because they've been with me since I first started writing back when I had almost no reads (crazy to think I'm at 35k now). They religiously voted on every chapter and I just wanted to acknowledge that I love the support and you mean a lot to me :)

New Years Eve Part 1

Aria

I spent the majority of the plane ride telling Queen stories to the passengers around Ben and I. The older man sat across the row from us was the most interested. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to hear everything and I was happy to share some stories. He shared some of his own too from when he went to concerts. I enjoyed hearing the stories from his perspective.

By the time we make it to the venue, Ben and I are ready to get this party on. We've had enough of sitting and are ready to socialize with our friends.

I grip his hand tightly as we walk into the large building. I take off my sunglasses inside and admire the building. It's clearly an event space, with beautiful decor and large windows to look outside.

"Ms. Mercury, and Mr. Hardy," a man says at the front desk. He has round glasses and a shaved head. His smile is kind. "We've been expecting you. Your room is reserved on the 31st floor. Take the elevator all the way up and it will take you immediately to your space. There are some guests already up there,"

"Thank you," I tell the man. Ben gives him a smile.

"If you need anything, my name is Martin,"

"Are you working all night?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows.

Martin nods. "I am,"

I frown. "Well if you'd like to come up for a little bit, at least for when the clock strikes midnight, you're more than welcome. It's New Year's Eve after all," I tell him.

His face lights up and a grin spreads. "Thank you, Ms. Mercury. I appreciate that,"

I give him another smile before leading Ben to the elevator. Once in, I hit the 31 button.

"What was that about?" he asks me quietly. I lean into him and wrap my arm around his waist.

"No one should be alone on New Year's Eve," I whisper.

Ben kisses the side of my head, and we finally reach the floor. The doors open and we are immediately brought to a hallway with a big door right in front of us. I'm assuming this is it, so I push it open, Ben grabbing my hand.

Sure enough I see Joe and Rami here. My smile widens as I push the door open fully.

"Well if it isn't so," I say.

Joe and Rami look over and come running over to Ben and I. I give them each hugs, as does Ben.

"I've missed my lovers," Joe says, looking at us brightly.

"I've missed you more," Rami argues.

"That's impossible because I missed them the maximum capacity of miss,"

"This is a nice space," Ben comments, stopping whatever argument was brewing.

We walk around to get a feel of the land. The walls are basically all window, with he exception of where the bathroom and of course where the door is. The view is amazing. It has a perfect view of Times Square. I know it will be fun tonight. And crazy, but at least we are sheltered up here.

As I'm looking out the window, I catch Ben out of the corner of my eye taking a picture of me. I turn around to meet him.

"Did you just take a picture of me?" I ask.

"Maybe," Ben says, putting his phone back in his pocket. I give him a look. "What? You looked beautiful so I took a picture,"

My cheeks flush.

"You're just saying that," I mumble.

"He's not," Joe interjects. "He's taken a lot of photos of you,"

"You ruined the moment," Rami sighs. "You made it sound creepy,"

I laugh. I know what Joe means and I know Ben's not a stalker. I'll admit that I've taken a couple of Ben too because he just looks so dashing and I want to remember it forever. I really do love pictures.

...

It didn't take long for everyone else to arrive. The party was in full swing by 8 pm. It's nearly midnight now. It's crazy how time flies.

"I've missed you so much," Lucy says, wrapping her arms around my neck, our faces touching.

"I've missed you too, Luce," I giggle.

Music blares through the room from the New Years Eve television special, colorful lights light up the space. Ben is in some kind of drinking game with Joe, Rami and Gwil. Lucy and I are taking bets on who's going to win.

"I feel obligated to say Ben," I tell her.

"Me too, but with Rami," she says.

I have literally no idea what the rules of this game are, but the boys are pretty tipsy by now. They keep chugging various liquids and I know that they will regret this come morning and sunlight.

Someone taps me on my shoulder and I turn to see Allen.

"Hey Allen!" I say loudly over the mass of people talking.

"Hey Aria!" He responds. "So I'm going to propose after the clock strikes midnight. I'm thinking we do a toast and I'll take over from there,"

My heart flips from excitement. Lucy clasps her hands together, having heard Allen speaking.

"Oh I'm so excited!" she exclaims.

Allen smiles. "Me too. And nervous beyond belief,"

"It's going to be great!" I assure him. "Let me stop the boys from drinking so they can sober up a little,"

I walk over to the guys, joining Ben's side. He slings an arm over my shoulder. They seem to be deep in conversation, having forgotten about their drinking game.

"Broski," Rami says.

"Brosicle," Gwilym counters. I think they're thinking of nicknames with 'bro' in them...they're doing an awful job.

"Broseph," Joe says.

"Brotastic," Ben adds.

"Bromosexual," Gwil says.

"I'm bromosexual for you Ben," Joe adds, winking at Ben.

At this point an amused Lucy and Allen come and listen to this odd conversation. Rami snakes an arm around Lucy's waist.

"Brotato chip," Allen interjects. The four other boys raise their glasses to him as he enters this weird conversation.

"Broassic park," Joe says, grinning like a fool at his lame joke.

It's in this moment that the five boys look at each other with their eyes wide from excitement, smiles playing on their lips.

"BROHEMIAN RHAPSODY!" They all yell in unison.

Oh my god, I can't handle this. These are my fools.

"Ben," I say when their excitement dies down. It takes a couple minutes.

"Yes my love?" he asks.

"You might want to slow down on the drinking," I suggest, with an awkward smile. He pouts. "Allen's proposing. You don't want to be wasted," I remind him, whispering as quietly as I can in this loud room.

Ben kisses me roughly, then kisses my cheek and leaves a trail of kisses down my neck. I laugh as I push him off of me. I'm too sober for this.
